Taiwan Surprises Passengers By Turning Subway Cars Into Different Sport Venues For Upcoming Universiade
Taipei City, the capital of Taiwan, is gearing up to host the 2017 Summer Universiade. To spread the hype, they gave the subway trains of their Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system a makeover – by turning them into shockingly realistic simulations of venues for all types of sports.
The cool ads on each subway car were focused mainly on the floors, which now resemble swimming pools, soccer fields, race tracks, and basketball courts. It’s a project managed by EasyCard Corporation, which synchronizes public transportation throughout Taiwan, and the Tourism Bureau of Taiwan. You can find these clever ads on the Songshan-Xindian (Green) line trains, a central MRT route.
The Universiade is the second-largest international sporting event after the Olympics. Back in 2011, the International University Sports Federation voted overwhelmingly for Taipei to host the games, beating out Brasilia, the capital of Brazil. The Summer Universiade featuring the Olympic sports will run from August 19th to the 30th, and Taipei is expecting to see a huge boom in tourism during this time.

Share on FacebookWas I the only on who thought the pool was legit? Cause I was MIGHTY confused for a bit there. The floors all look pretty awesome now too
Please stop me from diving into the floor! It looks just like a real swimming pool!!!!
I was actually pretty confused when I saw the pool tiles because I thought it was real, xD. Awesome artwork!
That takes a looooottttt of skill to design that. Especially the water. When I first looked at the article, I thought it was some new hipster swimming pool-bus.
THIS IS SO COOL! great marketing! And how clean those floors are!!
People in Taipei are hoping to just get the games over with. We've been subjected to a barrage of hype for about two years. Enough!
Are you speaking on behalf of all people or only about yourself?
Load More Replies...You don't have to look at the article, mate. And nobody really needs to hear your complaining.
