Designer Stuns Everyone In The World By Building A Secret Studio Beneath A Busy Bridge In Valencia
Plumber-turned-furniture designer Fernando Abellanas has built himself a studio that acrophobes wouldn’t want to visit. Abellanas has constructed his workplace under a bridge in Valencia, Spain, and it perfectly blends into the urban setting.
This under-bridge setup has a chair, a desk, and two shelves, providing all the storage space one could ask for in a regular office. To access the micro dwelling, the designer uses a hand crank that transports the base to the furniture, bolted to the bridge’s concrete wall.
Abellanas is keeping the exact location of the studio a secret. “The project is an ephemeral intervention,” he told the Spaces, via Curbed. “[It will remain] until someone finds it and decides to steal the materials, or the authorities remove it.”

What an interesting/unique idea. Remove the crank handle, and your shelter is secure. :D I wonder if he needed a permit for the shelter?
He said it will remain until the authorities remove it. I'm guessing it's not legal.
Load More Replies...it's just a hipster urban office, not a home, so not really playing homeless xD
Load More Replies...Considering the traffic noise and smog, it doesn't seems to be a very relaxing office...
Looks cool and a bit crazy but practically u can't stay for long without a washroom.. isnt it ?
I think what he did was a little illegal and I don't think he was homeless or a hipster just simply a guy with unique ideas. However it was so cool.
I'm not sure how much work he's actually getting done in the 'studio'. A designer with no electricity or wifi. Nice stunt for his portfolio though.
That would be a good escape if you were getting hunted because if you were u could just go up there roll your way there and you could say ' I could Be here all night' LITTERALY-ISH
Perfect zombie hide, stash some water and food, chill til they gat bored and wander off..
Genius concept. The noise and pollution would not be good though. His custom welded roller system gets an upvote alone.
It's like urban version of childhood dream - house on the tree....
The problem with this place being under a vehicle bridge is the fumes. Even if you can't smell them which I would doubt as they would be really strong under the road way. So you are breathing in carbon fumes all day and all night. No thank you. The only place this might work would be a pedestrian bridge or an electric cable car bridge.
be nice if countries could do this for homeless people , of the streets , safe from people abusing them
What a bizarre thing to do. As long as he likes it, but this would never cross my mind.
No heating, no air conditioning, no screens, no running water, no toilet, noisy with filtered down smog.
It's a studio. Why would he need air-con when it's outside? Screens? Heating? What?
Load More Replies...I fail to see the artistic enlightenment one gain from living under a bridge.
All the cool places you can hang outside when its not cold as hell all the time (like in Norway 10 months of the year)... :'(
Is it really? I was in June in Oslo, made me wanna move there.
Load More Replies...I don't like heights. Just looking at these photos made my noogies curdle.
I would be terrified to hang out so high up all day, panicking instead of painting lol
that looks so awesome also very dangerous you cannot pay me to go up there really cool though
What's California's building laws got to do with anything? This guy and his bridge studio are in Spain!
