While people were watching a street performance, one dog was living it. During a theatrical show in Turkey, the play had actor Numan Ertuğrul Uzunsoy laying on the floor, hurt. Of course, the injury was pretense.
“The character I played was injured and in great pain,” Uzunsoy told The Dodo. “He’d fallen off a horse, and was breathing hard.”
But a four-legged audience member wasn’t entirely sure, so it burst into the scene to investigate. Uzunsoy was doing such a good job, the pup thought it wasn’t just his character but the man himself who was in trouble. It decided to help Uzunsoy and snuggled right next to him, comforting the actor. Luckily for the rest of the world, the heartwarming moment was caught on video.
Here is the full clip of the dog “helping” the actor
“I felt warmth on my face. First, I thought my costar was approaching me,” the actor said
After realizing the truth, he couldn’t help but break character and give a wide smile
“I was very happy when I felt the dog’s kisses. I was very touched. He was like an angel who wanted to help me. It was a very emotional moment for me. I was not expecting it.”
Everyone enjoyed the adorable interruption
“My castmates loved the dog, and the audience was very happy”

One of the crew eventually escorted the sweet dog offstage, where it remained for a while. After making sure the “hurt” man was OK, it strolled away. Uzunsoy, on the other hand, hopes the meeting that day is just the first act of their story.
He wants to reunite with the stray and help him find a home, returning the favor for the kindness it showed.
“The next day I went to the same place, looking for him. People told me he usually hangs out there. I went again today,” Uzunsoy said. “I’ll look for him until I find him. I’ve always loved animals.”
Coming just a day after Bored Panda‘s article about a woman in Turkey leading animal parades, this incident only cements the fact that people and animals get along really well there.
Here’s what people said about the scene
I imagine that in a 'real scenario'- if there was an injured person on the pavement, this lovely dog would be more likely to 'help' the victim than many/most people.
Cats will do the same, but only if you are part of their colony. They have know you.

That is so awesome! Especially how the dog snuggled against the man.
I hope you're able to adopt him because he's definitely chosen you! :-)
My joke is that they're tasting us in case they can have us for dinner, but this is a truly engaged and caring pup. I hope he finds a wonderful home.
I didn't like Turkish people much when I first encountered them (that's not every individual, just a general feeling about their cultural attitudes, etc. as a group). But that's because I was encountering them in the former Soviet Union where they carried themselves rather arrogantly. The first few times I traveled to Turkey itself, I found them to be very warm and not very similar to the people I met. That's actually fairly common that people behave differently as expats, but they were more extreme than most. Though I haven't encountered it personally in Turkey, it seems that the Turkish especially have a soft spot for dogs (maybe other animals too).
Dogs are so pure! I once had to get a Terrier I was taking care of out of a pen with a bunch of mules that were bucking -- as he was barking. I didn't want him to get kicked in the head and he would not come when I called him. I knew instinctively to fall to the ground and feign injury and sure enough, he came running over to check on me and I nabbed him. Dogs are fur angels.
I've done a fair amount of street theater myself. Enough to know that it is those moments that make the effort worthwhile.
