Man Finds A Stolen Wallet With A Wedding Ring In It, But That’s Only The Beginning Of The Story
There are some incredible people on our planet and Jimmy Gilleece from North Carolina is one of them. Jimmy is the owner of a bar Jimmy’s at Red Dogs. A few weeks ago he received a message from a woman from New Mexico, who lost her wallet at the bar with a $10,000 ring in it. Jimmy was quick to help and looked through the video footage of their security cameras. Luckily the cameras captured a young boy taking the wallet, that was left on a bench near the bar.
Jimmy shared the image of the thief on the social media while the woman reported the wallet as stolen to the Police Department. With the help of the locals, Jimmy found the thief who happened to be 17-year-old Rivers Prather. At that time Rivers was living in the forest so he took the wallet because he was hungry and had no money for food. After taking the cash, he threw away the wallet into an ocean channel.
Some people would leave the rest to the police and be done with it, but not Jimmy. He hired divers to look for the wallet and to everyone’s surprise, they found it with the ring still inside.
After finding out about the hardships that the young teen was going through, Gilleece took Rivers into his home and helped him find a job.
I think it’s fair to say that we need more amazing people like Jimmy.

I agree it's very hard. This story is a big plus though. 😁
Load More Replies...Story notwithstanding, but seriously: who puts a 10,000 $ ring into a wallet and then does not (literally) guard it like gold?
this man is a hero, in every sense of the word. he helped two people with 2 very different problems. well done sir.
Maybe it's just me but I can only think of one reason someone would take off their wedding ring at a bar.
Swollen fingers. Cold fingers that SHRINK, leading to rings slipping off. Weight loss that has lead to rings not fitting snuggly, and the person has not taken the time to have them re-sized. A ring that is an heirloom and is not sized correctly/cannot be resized. There are lots of innocent reasons to take off a wedding ring (or any other ring) no matter where you are. I'm on year 10 of marriage, and change up my rings often, due to swelling, or knowing that jewelers recommend that you remove your rings when you do housework, for example. ...and I'll freely admit that I took a few minutes to think of all these. :)
Load More Replies...Sooooo, the wallet was in ocean water for some time but looks dry and in perfect shape. Right right. I need that wallet in my life!
Maybe the image was taken after the ring was polished and well.
Load More Replies...I like stories with happy endings, it gives me hope. I'm 76 years old and I still appreciate hopeful messages like this one. Thanks for being who you are.
Amazing, not only did he help the women find her wallet, he also helped the young man who stole the wallet. This is a great man and he should get more attention than just the website.
That is a good man, a role model for young men. God bless him for doing the right thing.
I hope that lady guards her ring more carefully. She must have a guardian angel who is working over time.
I'm thankful for that headline. If it had been the end of the story, well, boring story.
Happy to have read such an endearing story. Tonight I will sleep better thing of this wonderful gentleman who is filled with a great sense of duty. God bless them both.
