Dog Owner Searches For A Replacement Dog But Instead Finds His Lost Dog Who Was Stolen A Year Ago

To most of us, pets are like family members, and the sudden loss of them causes pain and emptiness. An 8-year-old Akita dog was stolen from the front garden of Delon Pearson’s home last year in September. The sudden loss of his beloved dog left a huge scar on his and his son’s hearts. However, a year later, Delon found his dog online.

However, one day, the dog’s owner Delon Pearson found her online

29-year-old Delon Pearson from Liverpool was heartbroken and struggled with the theft of his dog. After months of heartache, he started thinking about getting a new replacement dog. One day, he was browsing the internet when he unexpectedly spotted his dog Missy on the website of Skylor’s Animal Rescue in Dobshill, Flintshire, North Wales.

“It was unbelievable, all this time looking for her without any results and with a search done on Google after almost a year, we managed to find her. We checked the result several times, including enlarging the photo, and to our surprise, it was our beloved dog,” Delon told Bored Panda.

The animal rescue had found Missy a few months earlier, abandoned by her abductors and tied up at a car wash in Manchester. She received proper care and was fostered until she could find new owners. At that time, she was chipped—therefore, it was impossible to find her original owners.

Delon immediately contacted Skylor’s Animal Rescue and after the necessary checks, he was informed that he could take Missy the next day. He was thrilled to be reunited with his beloved dog, but he decided to keep it as a surprise to his 8-year-old son Bradley, who grew up alongside the Akita.

The next day, they drove to Flintshire to reunite with the Akita and the rest sounds like a scene from a movie with a happy ending. Even though Delon was told that it might take some time before Missy could adjust, the Akita recognized her best friend Bradley and acted like nothing had even happened. Tail wagging, she sat next to him and since returning home, she hasn’t left Bradley’s side.

Maybe instead of shaming the owner for a lack of chip, y'all could just be happy that they were reunited. Jeesh.

But how will I let the internet know about my moral/intellectual superiority if I don't shame you for not being exactly like me?

There are millions of sick, cruel persons. In Eastern Asia stolen dogs can end up on some b*****l, evil monster's dinner plate.

Stealing someone's pet is a pretty low thing to do. Then to abandon it is even worse. I am glad he got his dog back! Too bad they could not catch who did it.

The thought that someone migh steal my dog awakens thoughts of a kind of violence that almost nothing else will call forth. I live in Berlin, where stealing dogs is becoming a more and more common crime. It drives me nuts. I just want to take thes peopel and skin them alive.

It has been the Law in Britain for quite a few years now to have your dog chipped. This dog was obviously not taken to the vet as they check the chip. Such a shame.

A year? A year isn't much. "Replacement dog" is one of the most awful things to read.

I agree the author using the word replacement is pretty terrible. But there is no set time for people to get another dog if one has gone missing or passed away. And people shouldn't be judged negatively for doing so. The sooner, the better when it comes to more dogs being adopted from rescues and shelters!

The article says he was chipped after they found him. Their "beloved" dog was never chipped. I find that negligent. Every dog I have had is chipped ASAP.
