Someone Called This Girl Stupid For Doing Dangerous Things, Then Saw Her Last Name
19-year-old Bindi Irwin is proving that she is a ‘chip off the old block’ by following in the footsteps of her famous father, showing the same natural charm and close connection with animals of all kinds.
Much like her brother Robert, Bindi has been in the spotlight from an early age, appearing on her father’s show The Crocodile Hunter as young as six months old. During the filming of a commercial, Steve Irwin placed toddler Bindi on a crocodile’s back and said: “You’re watching Animal Planet with the Crocodile Hunter, and family!”
Since that unique on-screen debut she has tried her hand at all kinds of things, from acting and singing, to hosting TV shows and even winning an emotional season of Dancing With The Stars. The world has watched her grow up from her father’s adorable sidekick, through the aftermath of his tragic passing, to the confident and eloquent young lady she is today.
Bindi’s true passion is wildlife and, just like her father, she has that special gift of sharing her enthuasiasm, inspiration and message of conservation to the world. She still lives and works at Australia Zoo, which was founded and has been run by the Irwin family since 1970. “I have spent my entire life living in a zoo, which is pretty crazy. Not many kids get to say that,” she told E! News.“It took me until I was about three years old to realize that we didn’t just come to the zoo every day, that we actually lived here.”
Together with her mom and brother, Bindi is making sure her father’s legacy remains, and Steve, a hero to many of us of a certain age, is never forgotten. “We want to make sure that his message of wildlife and conservation continues,” she said. “Because he was the world’s greatest conservationist and we never want that message to die.”
Scroll down to check out what Bindi is up to these days, and share your thoughts in the comments below!
Twitter user Zeke TF recently went viral with his tweet
The tweet’s star is, of course, Bindi Irwin
Daughter of Steve Irwin, aka the “Crocodile Hunter”
And just like her father, Bindi also has a strong connection with animals
She still lives and works at Australia Zoo, which was founded and has been run by the Irwin family since 1970
“I have spent my entire life living in a zoo, which is pretty crazy. Not many kids get to say that”
“It took me until I was about three years old to realize that we didn’t just come to the zoo every day, that we actually lived here”
“I remember he [dad] gave me a piece of advice that has stuck with me forever”
“If you treat animals how you want to be treated, you’re a lot better off”
“When [Irwin] was working with venomous snakes or cheetahs, he just treated them in a [certain] way”
“It was never trying to overpower them or anything like that”
“He was just loving them”
“Dad was the ultimate wildlife warrior and we admired him more than anything”
“We want to make sure that his message of wildlife and conservation continues”
And Steve, a hero to many of us of a certain age, is never forgotten
Together with her mom and brother, Bindi is making sure her father’s legacy remains
“Because he was the world’s greatest conservationist and we never want that message to die”

it's incredible that his legacy, his children, are carrying on his love of animals and his work. They have such great enthusiasm for life that you can't help but feel inspired.
SO TRUE!!!! Im going to point out that someone captured a photo of King Julian victoriously stepping on Bindi's head ... King Julian for life. Who agrees??
Load More Replies...Steve Irwin was my hero growing up. I still remember when it hit the news. I watched it and went "nope, must be some other steve", just refusing to believe what happened. He was an amazing and an incredibly brave person. And full of life and energy. Its great to see his kids follow in his steps - they're doing him proud.
I didn't see the problem with holding a tarantula. They're not dangerous unless you have an allergy to the venom.
My issue with tarantula holding is that they are a delicate creature. Freak out and drop him/her and they die. Spiders freak me out a little but mosquitos are creatures from satans a**s so spiders FTW!
Load More Replies...Is it just me who is bothered by this comment of Mr Zeke "white people are so stupid"?? This is so appallingly dumb and racist, such a poor introduction for an article on Mrs Irwin's fabulous life and actions...
That bothered me too. If it said something else, people would've probably been outraged, but it"s "white people" so no big deal.... -_-
Load More Replies...Why would it be crazy and dumb if any other person who is not associated or related to Steve Irwin to handle such dangerous animals? If anyone is capable of tending to those creatures/animals professionally with extreme care and alertness, they shouldn't be judged crazy. They should be seen as someone who knows what they're doing.
it's amazing that his love for animals was passed over to his kids! This was amazing! But seriously? Guys if she is doing something that SHE decided to do, then let her! For gods sake, don't call her out for it; and then take it back just because of her last name :p
She's a beautiful girl! And I think its great that they make me remember on the TV Show that I watched when I was young. I wish her and her family much power, so they can care for the animals as long as possible =)
Man some people are just to cool for this world lol SHES SITTING NEXT TO A TIGER (I want to do that but I also want to live lol
Aw, these pictures are nice! I wish I could hold a Koala like that one day.. XD
On a side note... I never realized how HUGE rhinos are. I mean, I knew they were big, but holy moly!
Yeah, I thought they were smaller. This is like, school bus sized

This family is a credit to humanity. May they live very long, healthy and successful lives, inspiring those open to the best life has to offer the joys of animal/human friendships!
Your father not only did a great job with animals, but also in teaching you to love animals. Have a good life Bindi!

used to love watching Steve and his little princess and we are so luck that they are still there to keep his love of animals going
That is so disgustingly racist and so typical of Twitter. Twitter is FILLED with racism but because it's not white people being racist they let it slide, but 99.99% of all hate crimes and racism is AGAINST whites. It's ridiculous. They ban people for no reason just because they have the wrong views on there but this level of systemic racism is OK?
Would love to watch the show, your dad was amazing. All of you are wonderful for doing this
I love her!!! I especially love the animals she works with. Her brother looks just like the OG too. Kinda creepy...
The son looks so much like his dad! Let’s do that as a reality show instead of the plastic Kardashians!
Such a gorgeous and loving family! I'm happy that they are carrying on their dad's vision.
Wish he was still here to see how much his kids have grown! The joy on their faces would have meant the world to him!
Handling zoo animals is not necessarily dangerous. Most zoos train and develop certain animals for this so that visitors can have closer contact with animals and even touch them. This helps visitors connect with these wonderful creatures and, hopefully, do something for conservation or habitat protection. But while zoo staff, who are well-trained in handling these animals, may be at minimal danger of bites or attacks, it is CERTAIN that they will be peed on or pooped on at a pretty high frequency. Meerkat on the head?.....HIGH RISK...but just part of the job. I know from experience! Congratulations to this family for good work and maintaining Irwin's legacy.
its driving me nuts that the first pic is blurry. The bushes in back sure aren't though
Well well well it looks like it wasn't the WHITE GIRL girl that is stupid, HUH ZEKE
Ok, this is neat and all, but I will be the first to say I got click baited. He didn't call her stupid. He said, IN THE VERY SAME POST, be safe and carry on with what she's doing. He's not particularly racist because everybody can be extremely stupid at times. I don't intend to cause arguments, and I like this post, everything about it, except for the fact that I, and probably you too, got click baited.
the dude who didn't know who she was, don't visit Australia. the first five pics is like a walk to the local corner store to get milk.
See how racist it all the sudden becomes to peoples when you switch the colours from anything other than white? C'mon people, in this day and age we need to call it like it is. Whether someone is black, white, brown, green, orange, pink, red or purple, being derogatory towards another race of any colour is not okay, not in any context.
