It's a series of multi-panel photo sets meant to illustrate the archetype of a person, company, or pretty much everything you can imagine through a recommended selection of fashion articles, multimedia, and other consumer products. It's a lot similar to the so-called steal her look fashion guides.
Probably nothing validates this meme's relevance more than a subreddit, dedicated to collecting its best variations. Created at the end of 2014, r/Starterpacks is an online community that has already grown to 1.8 million members, and it looks like it's only going to continue to get bigger. My cat will jam his head down a glass to drink anything out of the bottom.
Cats fed with good food don't really need to drink water. Dry cat food is unhealthy for cats too and easily gives them diabetes and damages kidneys. Their food should be wet food with lots of meat in it and no addons like cereals or veggies. Then they don't need to drink water basically at all as they get enough from food and there's nothing to worry about.
I have a fish tank on a livingroom table - the fish died two years ago, but the cats love drinking out of it - even with the filtered pet fountain bought for them. So, now the the aquarium is still there and they still drink out of it
My dog is just the same. He'll drink dirty water out of a puddle before drinking fresh clean water out of his nice clean bowl at home.
My dog has a process. We stop at EVERY FREAKING WATER SOURCE in the 20 yards between my parents’ house and mine, just so she can get a drink, even if they are two inches from each other. Then she has to clean her palate when she gets inside by drinking play faucet water. Then eat a treat, then sometimes another drink. She does not get dehydrated. If she were tall enough, I’d be worried she’d drink from the toilet, but she’s a lil hot dog.

My oldest cat waits till the wife has a full new glass of water and makes her share. The other two prefer the little bowl that catches the condensation drops off the back of the toilet tank. Our tap water comes in cold! Of course they have a nice big bowl of fresh water in the kitchen, they're just cats.
I feel like my cats go out of their way to ONLY drink from my cup of water, even when their water bowl is so much more accesible.

2020 has been a really good year for the community—the subreddit has grown by about 500k new members, and it might even reach 2 million in 2021. "The Covid-19 Pandemic had a lot of people stuck at home and on Reddit. People wanting to look at memes about their current situation could be a major contributor [to r/Starterpacks popularity]," the moderators explained.

The story of the starter pack started around the caveman years in 2014 on Twitter by a user named ItsLadinaPlis with the 'I date black guys' starter pack. According to moderator WaddlesJP13, that single post spawned a bunch of other starter packs, basically turning it into a meme instantly, and leading to the creation of many forums and pages dedicated to the format, such as r/Starterpacks. "Somehow, the format is still really popular 6 years later and the subreddit," they wrote. Pretty good for a meme!
