Mom Doesn’t Believe Her Photos Are Any Good, So Her Son Posts Them On The Internet To See What Others Think

Moms tend to be incredibly humble. When we’re kids, they can juggle work, take care of us, and keep the house in tip-top shape without breaking much of a sweat. They make it seem like it’s no big deal and anyone can do it. The same logic usually applies to any talents or skills they might have—moms tend to not make a big deal out of them.

However, skillful moms should know how great they are. That’s what Imgur user Louloucacapoo believed in when he posted his mom’s wholesome and heartwarming photos on the website. His goal was to prove to his mom that her photography skills are great! What followed was an outpouring of praise for the pictures of Boulette the raccoon.

An Imgur user shared his mom’s wholesome photos of their raccoon Boulette

In case you were wondering, boulette is the French word for pellet. Yes, it is a cute name. And apt, too. Especially for a tiny raccoon who lost her mommy. The pictures of the cute raccoon posing together with 5 doggos and the Imgurian’s grandmother went viral and made a lot of people smile.

The raccoon seems to have a great relationship with its owners’ dogs

As it turns out, people do keep raccoons as pets. Of course, as with any animal, there are pros and cons to keep in mind.

Kat Tretina on Wide Open Pets suggests finding out if keeping raccoons as pets is legal where you live before you run off into the forest to catch your own raccoon buddy. If you’re living in the United States, you ought to keep in mind that some city laws prohibit keeping them as pets, even if state laws allow it! So check, double-check, and check a third time. We wouldn’t want any of you Pandas to get arrested for harboring raccoons illegally now, would we?

Boulette is very friendly

Raccoons that are bred and raised in a home with people to look after it bond more easily and quickly adjust to life as pets, compared to their wild brethren. These animals are surprisingly loving, love snuggles, and can get very attached to their hoomans. However, in some rare cases, affectionate itty-bitty raccoons can grow up to be mean and vindictive.

Despite all of this, raccoons are very independent! If your raccoon needs its space, give it some space. Just like in any loving relationship, your raccoon also requires some personal alone time to reflect on its life, goals, and ambitions. Because raccoons are so energetic, they usually need an entire room to themselves, full of toys, and places to climb.

Here’s a photo of the Imgurian’s grandma, 5 doggos, and Boulette the raccoon

For those of you who are curious Pandas, I’ll let you in on a small secret: raccoons are a bit like dogs. They mainly eat fresh fruits and vegetables, supplemented with fish or chicken or some high-quality dog food. Oh yeah, and you can train them to use the litterbox. They can also learn their name and other commands. But! Because they’re independent, they can choose when and how to follow some of your commands. And they can even hold grudges. My best guess is that the Sorting Hat would put the majority of raccoons into sneaky Slytherin. But what do you think?

She is off to a good start, adult education classes would be the next step -- if she is interested. Local art centers and museums often have excellent classes. People take photographs for different reasons, not everyone wants to move to the next level.

Was a Wildlife Rehabilitator in Oregon for years. Coons are a bit like having a monkey as a pet (which I absolutely do not recommend ever), although clever. They are smart little whips and great escape artists and have insatiable curiosity, they get in and out of everything and throughly take things apart. They need water nearby when they eat because they wash their food before eating it. Fun trick: give one a sugar cube and see what happens when it just disappears while being washed! Very important: from the wild they can carry some parasites that are dangerous to you and pets. It’s easy to worm them through medication but easy to come in contact through fecal matter. In the U.S. it is illegal to have indigenous wildlife (native, occurring naturally in an area) as pets in most states. It’s never good to keep Wildlife as pets. They’re wild and even if friendly are true to nature. Unfair to take their natural life away for your pleasure. Contact local rehabbers, please.

No it's not, it's about being able to compose the frame in the mind and position yourself accordingly, see the light and photograph at a spot from a direction where you have good light. It's about knowing your subject and put emotion in the frame, choosing the right perspective at the right moment and then edit the RAW files on the computer like a film was developed in the past. When you can do that sometimes Volume is required to get you that one perfect shot. If you don't know that volume just means you have thousands of bad photos, maybe one lucky one but you don't know how to recreate it and the next one million photos might be bad again unless you learn how to do it properly. This photos are not bad but they are far from being great, she has a good eye and if she'd put in some effort to learn photography she could do great pictures. Don't hype people, don't put them down, but guide them to their potential.

Great photos! Definitely do your research before jumping to get a pet raccoon. They're smart and cute but they can also make holes in your walls and make glorious messes, like a toddler. My art teacher once told us a story about his pet raccoon that got into his red paint and washed it's hands with it before running around his art room creating what looked like a murder scene.

Except for injured wildlife, which can't survive in the wild, it's wrong to keep wild animals as pets, even worse to breed them for this, or any other exploitative purposes. Yet, here we go again Bored Panda promotes it again, even giving out tips to potential irresponsible, selfish "animal lovers". There are millions of healthy, cute dogs and cats in the shelters being euthanized because nobody wanted to save their lives and give them home. BP it is possible to give people something to smile about and adore and do it responsibly.

Absolutely adorable. We live in a rural area with plenty of Raccoons, evidence the bottom edge of our garbage can. Large hole chewed to get to the contents. They even dared doing it when the dogs (German Shepherd and Labrador) were outside.

Me? I think your mother is just fishing for compliments! These are clearly professional standard. Maybe your mother is just shy and lacks confidence. You should help her. Make up a portfolio and drag her to the nearest gallery or print shop. You could, if you wanted, I'm sure, make up a calendar. Anyway, I like these, so there!

Boulette is beautiful and so are her photos. All she really needs is for someone to love and want one of her photos. I could see photos of Boulette being desirable already. She could play with some black and white of her instead of all color also. She has a very photogenic subject and has very cute poses already. I think they are fantastic! She should do whatever she wants, if that means taking a class to possess a bit more knowledge or by just working things out on her own. Either way the photos are treasures.

It'S a nice change to see 'raw' photos, without all the post that is usually put into them. (Not that I think postproduction is worng, quite the contrary, but this also makes me parreciate the work that gos into pics after they've been taken). And, God, I love racoons!!!

Five adorable doggies AND a pet raccoon? How is this woman not an Instagram star already?! We don't care if they're any good (and these are perfectly fine), ANY pic of a cute little dog interacting with another cute animal is internet gold. Start mining that gold, Grandma!

Oh, I love your moms pics. I rehabbed a raccoon called Clyde once, what a character. After he was old enough I handed him over to fellow Rehabilitators who prepared him for release back to the wild (and through humane methods made sure he wasn’t likely to show up at a humans black door for food!). I know he went back to the forest, probably found a cute little mate, made lots of raccoon love, had a ton of babies and lived a nature healthy life perfect to his species. That, makes me happy.

I hate to be that guy but these are not great photos. They are cute and I enjoyed looking at them but almost all of them look like snapshots that anybody could take of the animal. They are just fine for sharing with people on social media but if the focus is on whether or not they are good in and of themselves then I'm sorry, they don't qualify. Photos being enjoyable and photos requiring skill are two very different things. She should keep it up tho. She's on her way.
