I disagree but that is the beauty of art, different things to different people. I guess photorealism to me is a form of copying exactly. My favourite artists are post impressionist, Modigliani, Klimt as well as later like Freud or Bacon. Each to his own.

Talent like yours is VERY RARE! I bet you have no formal art instruction. This is a gift and we are honored to see your work! My hubby was a full-time marine-life artist (painting) and had never had any schooling in art. He had exhibits all over the world, and some of his paintings are in the homes of some celebs. He went back to school and got his degree. Things are very different now and I hope you will keep drawing. You might want to think about finding a mentor who can steer you in the right direction. This is a remarkable piece of work!

my brother discovered gold in the equipment needed to make gold fillings & bridges at dental school. There were flecks & little bits left over after the casting process that the other students ignored. He collected them and made some impressive jewelry for my sister-in-law. Imagine, enough free gold to cast several rings...

Is it bad that I feel jealous of people who have enough spare time on their hands to even attempt such awesome handicrafts, let alone have the talent to achieve such amazing results? I even felt jealous of the folks in lockdown, because I was hearing stories of folks learning new crafts and even hobbies turned into new career opportunities, while my job as essential worker kept me slogging away at all hours, with no time for even basic things like cooking and cleaning... Anyway, kudos to all the very talented artists here - and please: more lovely posts like this one!
