It’s easy to make fun of the Brits. I should know, I’m one myself! However, the whole ‘bad teeth’ thing that Americans seem to cling to is a little outdated by now, we got that sorted a while back and quite regularly go to the dentist now. Well most of us, anyway.

So why not have a dig at the fact that we invented a whole host of sports, which we now suck at? Or the brand-new super expensive aircraft carrier we got, which has no aircraft and already sprung a leak? And what about this guy, who represents us to the world as our Foreign Secretary? The list is practically endless. Luckily, most of us have a pretty deprecating sense of humour and are quite happy to chuckle along too, so by all means, give us your best shot.

Now, if you must, you can add general hysteria and losing-of-shit over a little bit of bad weather to the list. Egged-on by a ridiculously sensationalist tabloid press, Brits have been portrayed as a bunch of hopeless ninnies who are incapable of functioning as a society as soon as but a single snowflake falls from the sky. And sadly, it’s all true.

Naturally, people from countries like Canada, Switzerland, Norway and Russia, places where it gets like, actually cold, can only look on with incredulous pity at us whiny Brits, and wonder what the heck all the fuss is about. Those guys get it soo much worse than us, but life seems to go on just fine. What is our problem? Well, you see old chap, we just always seem to get the wrong type of snow. Just unlucky I guess!

Scroll down to see how the world roasted us, and quite rightly so I might add. Oh, and feel free to take a pop at us in the comments too. Bring it!

Two snow flakes talking. -"What you up to?" -"Going to Canada partying with friends, you?" -"Going by myself to the UK to cause panic!"

Michigan USA got 53inches of snow in 2014 more than the blizzard of 78! Maybe that is a picture of Canada. A total white out! I wouldn't want your rain though!

We're just not use to it, honestly. But it does really get me angry that our country does not prevention beforehand because it might not happen. That went well, didn't it?😡🤔🐧

It reminds me of Californians when it rains a little (not the massive floods they got this past year).

All the news media does in the UK is constantly go on about how terrible everything is. I am sick of the negativity it pumps out day in day out. No wonder other countries find it difficult to take us seriously.

Paris each year goes through the same thing as in England. Living in Switzerland we don't seem to go through such drama even though we do have snow ever year. Here things are well organized we still go to school, work, and walk our dogs.

If you only get heavy snow once every ten/twenty years or so, you are not equipped for it..

In Brazil, we never have snow in our entire lives and our "winter" is around 15 celsius degrees (and in some regions, it is 20 celsius or higher).

In the late '60s I left Oswego, NY, about late in the evening in the middle of a snowstorm to make it to NYC for the weekend. (Young and foolish--yes, I know.) There was already about 8" of snow on the ground when I left and a lot more by the time I got the the Thruway. The drive took hours longer than usual, and when I reached the northern edges of the NY metropolitan area around 6 a.m., I heard on the radio that the the city was paralyzed by the 3" that had fallen. It all depends on your experience and what you're used to. :)

crack on people, believe every thing you hear. I hope you heard about the Dr that walked ten miles in the blizzard so he could get to the hospital to do his job, The farmers and people that came out in force to help get Dr's and nurses to the hospitals to do their jobs. postmen out doing their job, I still got my mail, carers in the community the community getting out going their to make sure the elderly and venerable. all the people that went to work and kept our shops open and supplied. The people that walked across fields to provide hot drinks and food the the drivers stuck in their cars. Don't matter if it's a war or snow, we come together in the face of adversity and help each other. If you want to know why we are advised not to travel. It to save lives and avoid unnecessary strain on our services. Unlike the morons in Iowa on the m62 feb 2018. Google it then carry on laughing if you think its funny
