Illustrator Perfectly Captures The Beauty Of Single Life

Mexico-based artist Idalia Candelas draws women who are content to be alone. Using pencil, ink, and watercolor, “Postmodern Loneliness” is a series that celebrates being single. Candelas says she was inspired by her time living alone in Mexico City.
“The theme of the loneliness has been recurring in my drawings,” Candelas told Mic. “I like to show women who exist in solitude but do not suffer. They are not depressed or crying. Rather [they] are safe, exalting in the sense of enjoying the company of just herself.”

So we just hang around being sexy all day?
My thoughts exactly! Sure, underwear are comfortable to hang around in, but I live in an area of the world where it snows 4-6 months of the year. These pictures wouldn't be interesting in the least if the female had her hair in a bun and was wearing flannel pajamas. Ooof.
I Live in Minneapolis, Minnesota so I can absolutely relate. Not only am I single but I am also a hermit. I serve people all day and when I am finished I want to spend my time alone at home but I most certainly am not wearing just panties unless it's unbearably warm out. This person has no idea of what single women do at home alone. Personally, I run Foxen Organics, an organic skin care line, and I am busy filling orders from scratch. When I am not doing that I am working on various art projects or tending to my plants and animals. It seems to me that the illustrator wanted attention and chose to get it by depicting woman in "candid" scantily clad positions. The over all outcome is disappointingly weak and without purpose but there is no doubt that she has great skill. I just wish that she had been honest and labeled it what it is-"Woman that you wish you could date hanging out at home without you."
When I was much younger and single I would be out most of the time when not in work; at political meetings, in the pub, at the local leisure centre or at the cinema. My flat was freezing despite milder winters and cheaper energy then as I had no central heating, double glazing and insulation for the first few years after moving in. Also when you share a house with strangers or live with parents you're not going to be going around half dressed. I would be getting dressed as soon as I got up.
Something what you definitely can't do in relationship. Oh, wait-
All day and all night :) that's the singles' superpower!
You can hang around in your underwear if you're in a relationship...
Uhhuh, besides a very little percentage of population is born to be a sympathic woman aged 18-30 with perfect body who can have sex with anyone anytime. But nice try anyway virtual freak.
You miss the point. You get to hang out in your underwear! Now that trumps family any day.
and after a month or so see how she wil become depresed in there is no man in her life :D
this is whats wrong with society. you dont need a man, you have you.
You don't have to be single to do this things. I'm in a relationship and I do all these and many more! ;-) It's about feeling comfortable!
I agree. What this has to do with being single I have no idea. I guess it's cool though to hate on love and be antisocial.
what hating on love and being antisocial has to do with being single I have no idea
It has quite a lot to do with being single (as not living with your other half = not being in a relationship), it is not trying to be cool. It is just depicting being alone (single).
Right, but if you had children you wouldn't be walking around your home topless or in underwear...
Beby.. U may do things same in relationship too.... But in India it is very difficult to find same fashion even for single too....
You don't do these things while in relationship?
