Jason Momoa Fights Against Single-Use Plastic Water Bottles In Hilarious PSA
Jason Momoa has grown a reputation for himself as an environmental warrior. This year he shaved his signature beard to create some buzz for his new company Mananalu, which produces canned water as an alternative single-use plastic water bottle and now he has partnered with Real Deal Mada as part of a hilarious PSA against plastic pollution.
The 39-year-old famous actor’s video, featuring Mada, a former WWE Superstar, was just one snippet from a larger PSA from LonelyWhale, where they urged against the use of plastic bottles. Momoa took to Instagram to promote the environmentally friendly initiative, writing: “Since we couldn’t be at the shoot this is my and @realdealmada contribution to the cause Mahalo @lonelywhale and everyone involved in this PSA.”

The funny ad begins with Momoa walking out of a building, wearing a vintage t-shirt from the 1992 Pantera album Vulgar Display of Power under a black long-sleeved shirt.
He then proceeds to slap a plastic water bottle out of a nearby man’s hand, and says, ‘It doesn’t matter how you stay hydrated, as long as you do it without using single-use plastic.’
Momoa continues his anti-plastic waste crusade and slaps a bottle out of Mada’s hands. The two stand eye to eye and Momoa simply says, ‘What?’
The video then cuts to a shirtless Momoa in a bathtub, holding a champagne glass filled with ice, which he uses to numb his maimed face.
“There are so many sustainable alternatives you can reach for,” Momoa says while reaching for a reusable stainless steel bottle to fill his glass.
“For our planet and for our future generations who depend on it,” Momoa continues, while clinking champagne glasses with Mada.
“So please, stop using single-use plastic water bottles,” Momoa says, taking another sip of water, and with that, his PSA clip comes to an end.

I live in Santa Cruz CA. Single use bottled water is bad enough but not recycling them is horrible. I am sick of going to the beach and seeing all kinds of drink containers laying about. We have garbage and recycle cans every where. Straight disgusting. The school I worked for installed filtered water stations and handed out reusable water bottles. Kids are still sent to school with one use plastic water bottles. And the middle and highschools sell them. Mixed message for our kids.
I used to live in Palo Alto and go to Santa Cruz at least a few times a month. While moving there during a divorce, my car engine caught on fire at the intersections of Hwy 280, 101 and 17. I was actually on 280. My car and all of my measly possessions burnt to a crisp and I lost my house in Santa Cruz. 1986 or 87? And they forgot to give me a ticket, can you believe? Maybe the CHP felt sorry for me.

This so amazing of him and all that bring light to all the plastics that are “one time used”... I never use any one time plastic bottles. I only use BPA free refillable Tupperware Water Bottles. And also hate it when people at work place those plastic water bottles in the freezer!!!! >>>> NEVER DO THAT — WHEN WATER EXPANDS IN A PLASTIC BOTTLE FROM BEING FROZEN, IT GIVES OFF TOXINS FROM THE PLASTIC THAT WHEN YOU DRINK THE WATER IT YOU CAN GET SICK FROM <<<<
Oh man, I can see people slapping water bottles out of peoples hands now since he said it was ok. Corporations should start being fined for non-evnironmentally friendly practices. I see it every day at Panasonic in NA. TONS of paper just being thrown away instead of recycled. It's absolute BS
You wouldn’t believe how much small plastic baggies I see thrown away at my work... and not recycled. They use them in the manufacturing of prescription glasses. Makes me so angry. Plus there’s a lot of cardboard they DON’T recycle, when they can. They recycle a lot of the bigger cardboard boxes, but not the smaller pieces that add up over time.
Load More Replies...Yes, please keep it up. Aluminum for water! If you didn't know, Iams (pet food) recently (this year) switched from aluminum cans to plastic for their "canned food". Stop buying their products and shame them into switching back!
Dude is so arrogant. How women can find this guy attractive is beyond me. One of those "looks is all we need" types. Dude is built like a house and seriously good looking (I am a straight male), but dang, he thinks he is all that. Have a woman do that, and see what's what...internet fodder for days.
