Japanese And Siberian Flying Squirrels Are Probably The Cutest Animals On Earth

These adorable flying squirrels are found in Japan and in Europe, from the Baltic Sea to the Pacific coast, and fall under the category of Old World flying squirrels. They don’t hibernate, but in the winter, they sometimes sleep for several days at a time.

Flying squirrels don’t actually fly: they glide using a furry membrane or patagium between their front and rear legs. Using this membrane, squirrels have been known to glide over 100 meters, either to escape a predator or just reach another tree!

animals are happy in their natural habitat! let's be thankful for their existence and not keep them prisoner in our life. in this big world there is space for everyone, but sometimes big egos tend choke the planet. gathering everything inside our homes will not bring happiness in our empty lifes.

They sell these as pets in Japan. Theyre called momonga and go for around 80 bucks. Its also possible to get chipmunks and other squirrel-like critters.

There are also flying squirrels endemic in Palawan, Philippines. Does their darker color make them less cute? http://www.iucnredlist.org/details/10604/0

Do you ever yearn, George? I do. Sometimes I sit and yearn... for a tiny cute squirrel that reminds me of the beauty in the world. Look at you. You're wasting your life not yearning for these squirrels.
