When exploring new content on Instagram, do you ever so often happen to come across accounts with very particular content that has the power to unnerve you? Yet, at the same time, it's so fascinating, you can't force yourself not to look. Well, for better or for worse, we have a special treat for you today.
We would like to present a young American artist of 24 years, Hunter Scheiderer, from Los Angeles. He draws weird and dark comics which are oddly quite mesmerizing to look at. The catch is, his short scary stories are completely absurd, true pearls of a dark sense of humor. With almost 100K followers on Instagram, Hunter manages to be unpredictable in his art defying common sense. There's only one sure thing, the best place to appreciate his dark cartoon drawings is under a blanket.
You might wonder what drives the artist to make these short horror stories? And the answer is his social anxiety, an evil that has widely spread among artists in their twenties. According to Hunter, what's most important is that simple drawing ideas can be turned into something very interesting with the help of weirdness.
There's no doubt that this artist has already found his very own style, and below are some of his webcomics which we hope you will like!

This was one of my biggest fears as a child. Along with quicksand, which didn't turn out to be as much of a problem as I had feared.
Valid fear. I sat on one once and didn't get up in time at the base, it tore the backside out of my pants and undies ... At a crowded train station .... Had to walk home with hands over my bum. Can't comment on quicksand though.
Load More Replies...Oh this actually sadly hastened in China, a mother and hey cold were riding an escalator and the panel fell through. The mom died.
Actually, and sadly, this occasionally happens: https://edition.cnn.com/2015/07/27/china/chinese-mother-killed-escalator/index.html
My friends dad worked on repairing them and he said he always found fingers and toes!!
Ever since lockdown ended, i always felt uneasy on an Escalator because i might loose my balance and fall off, trip, or what’s happening to the person in the comic
I was SO afraid of that I would jump over the thing and make my parents do it too lol
Grew up in the bush this was my fear when i moved. to the city as a child
I had a friend when I was a kid that lost his fingers sitting on an escalator backwards.
Same leg. It seems left because of how it was drawn
Load More Replies...I worked on a wrongful death lawsuit where several elderly people were killed when the escalator jerked. Escalator going up, people falling backwards. It wasn’t like the comic, but they were super dead.
Chris Walken did that in Fatboy Slim's "Weapon of Choice"
Load More Replies...It actually has happened... I watched an episode of 911 when I was little, where this happened to a small boy.
Load More Replies...Having to spend or give kids money from the moment they are born. Perhaps
Every one of these was disturbing. So naturally I looked at every damn one.
I wouldn't want to have to live in this person's head. And I really didn't need to see these.
I couldn't even look at some of them, so good job I guess
Many of these, while being disturbing, were trying to prove a point so you can't just consider what's happening basically and try to judge it from there
These were all SO creepy, and the art style made them even more so... I loved them
This guy needs serious therapy! It was like a train wreck, I couldn't stop watching even though it was horrible!!! 😱
