Woman Adopts Senior Cat, Later Comes Back To Shelter For His 16-Year-Old Best Friend
Two senior cats, 11-year-old Mojo and 16-year-old Max, found themselves in Anne Arundel County Animal Control shelter, Maryland, USA. Their golden days were likely to end in a cage, but then a miracle happened.
A kind-hearted woman adopted Mojo, and a few days ago she came back for his buddy Max. She said that Mojo was a wonderful pet, but she couldn’t get his 16-year-old friend out of her head: “The idea of him living out his life in a cage just broke my heart.”

I don't know this wonderful lady but I can provide more information as I'm very good at tracking things down. It wasn't that hard either. First, the reason she didn't adopt Max right off was because he was in isolation with an illness. She would've had to wait till he was told he was better -- how long, I don't know. Second, while I can't tell you the woman's name, I can say her daughter's name is Tori Asher and she said her mom had no idea that people have been posting these pix all over saying how loving she is to take two senior kitties. And the look on Max's sweet face in the first photo indicates he knows that too! ♡♡♡
And one tear of happiness dropped from my face :,) God bless everyone who loves and respect animals!!

I wish more people - and especially shelter workers - would think like this. When two animals are bonded like that, we should do everything we can to keep them together. They can't ever understand why we'd take them from their only "friend" - nor can the friend understand why his buddy is suddenly gone. Worse, we all KNOW that these animals feel pain, loss and grief when a beloved friend is gone. ------------------ I know the goal is to get the animals adopted asap, but when two animals have bonded like that, the first goal should be to try and find them a home where they can stay together! If I ever open a shelter (something I very much want to do), keeping bonded pairs together would be part of the mission statement, and made clear to any potential adopters!!
