30 Times People Spotted Total Jerks During The Coronavirus Crisis And Shamed Them Online
Some people are reacting to the coronavirus in a mature, responsible way. While others are panic-buying, hoarding supplies, leaving nothing to buy for everyone else, and flaunting how much they don’t care about social distancing. And a select few are even hoping to scalp others by reselling basic supplies like toilet paper.
But the internet isn’t standing for this kind of behavior. People are shaming jerks online who are making the corona-crisis more difficult for us all. Scroll down for Bored Panda’s list about corona-jerks getting outed and let us know in the comments below if this made you lose a bit of faith in humanity. Be sure to read on for our interview with Sam Dogen, founder of the Financial Samurai website, about price gouging.
Most people you talk to will be able to tell you that they’ve already seen small examples of price-gouging. Like selling face masks for exorbitant prices. It looks like some individuals see the crisis as an opportunity. An opportunity to fill their pockets with quick cash in exchange for their moral integrity.

The Old Man & His Wife In My Building Rarely Leave Their Apt. They Was Very Pleased
This Man Drove 1,000+ Miles And Bought 17,000 Bottles Of Hand Sanitizer And Wipes, But Now He Can't Find Buyers. Boo-Hoo
Bored Panda spoke with Sam Dogen, founder of the Financial Samurai website, about price gouging and scalping in the wake of the corona-crisis. We wanted to find out why we're already seeing people pay huge prices for hygiene products.
"Panic makes people do things irrationally," Dogen said. "There is no need to have a year's supply of toilet paper or hand sanitizer. Supply will come back within a couple months as we are currently experiencing a supply shock as well."
"So if you must hoard, then buy for not more than two months of supply. Most people buy one month's supply of personal hygiene products, so two months is not that much more."
Just.... Man, [screw] Her. I’ll Never Understand Why People Are Such Assh*les
This woman in Taylor Mill, Kentucky has hoarded toilet paper to sell out the back of her car for $5.00 a roll. How can people have this much greed? GET HER FACE OUT THERE...So the World can know what a true LOW LIFE looks like.
If This Is You: [Screw] You
The More You Take, The Less There Is For Everyone Else
Dogen reiterated that it's vital that people don't give in to price gouging. "Price gouging is a pure indication of panic buying. If you do not panic buy, then you will not succumb to paying inflated prices. People who price gouge during a global pandemic should be fined and banned from reselling things online again. Instead of price gouging, they should be doing something to help their fellow brothers and sisters."
He also mentioned that price gouging is nothing new during times of distress. "Price gouging happened during the 2008–2009 financial crisis, after many devastating storms, and other tragedies."
"I understand the desire to profit to take care of your own finances, but when there is a large tragedy, it is incumbent on all of us to step up and help each other out."
Which One Are You?
There are 2 types of people in the world
Seriously...
My co-worker has been coming into office because he feels "fine" and shows no symptom. Now my senior manager still want to have all hands meeting where bunch of people (+20) crammed into conference room to discuss telecommuting plan.
Update: Now my a-hole manager wants doctor's note if you are calling in sick. If employees are self quarantining for any suspicious symptoms, last thing you want to do is go outside to get a [frikinn] doctor's note!
Whoever You Are, [Screw] You!
To be fair, you can’t jump to conclusions. They might be stocking a food bank.
CBS4 found out about an underground scalper and gouger network in Denver that resells personal hygiene products at greatly increased prices. One of these men was selling packages of (yup, you guessed it) toilet paper for 4 to 5 dollars per 4-pack on Craigslist. Even though they cost around 1 dollar per pack in stores.
“If you want more, it will be gone by tomorrow,” the man told undercover CBS4 reporters when he met them. According to the scalper, he’s been making good money and sold around 100 rolls already. When the man realized that he was being filmed, he refused to talk to the reporters further.online.
The undercover reporters met another man who sold 4 to 5 dollar-worth bottles of hand sanitizer for 20 dollars each. He explained that most of his customers are worried about the coronavirus.
“I just wanted to cash in and make a few bucks,” he said. Fortunately, in this case, the man realized that he was acting wrong, returned the money, and reduced the cost of his products to their usual price.
In the US, over 30 states have laws that make it illegal for people to price gouge during a state of emergency or a disaster. However, other states, like Colorado, don’t have such restrictions.
Which makes it easy for jerks to hoard supplies and then resell them for people who are in panic-mode. The good news is, the majority of folks are fighting back, even if, for now, it mostly means shaming these jerks

Dried beans. Dried [frikinn] beans.
Everytime we have external stresses, people in the Seattle area choose a weird food item to stock up on. For Snowpocalypse in February 2019, it was bread and milk. Now, it's dried beans. Most of the people who purchased these have probably never even cooked with dried beans!

This is illegal! Report her to the states attorney general’s office!
It is people like this, that stops a business from trying to buy tp for their restrooms or getting cleaning supplies.
I did a reverse Google image search and landed on Reddit; someone wrote he'd identified this person and was waiting back on a phone call from the AG. Hopefully this sort of behavior will stop asap, and proper action from the authorities will deter others.

What kind of businesses allow this? In England apart from Costco toilet paper and other essentials are limited.
I SAW THIS GUY, I LIVE IN DAVIS COUNTY, AND HE CAME IN TO WHERE I WORK, HE WAS RUDE TO EVERYONE, AND TOOK THE PALLET THAT WAS BEING WHEELED OUT OF THE BACK TO RESTOCK THE SHELVES
The most fucked up thing anyone could possibly do what about the veterans and the elderly! Have some consideration for others!
It looks like someone took a photo of the incoming pallets being delivered to make this claim. There's no way this is their stuff. They're trying to profit without having the actual stock. Worse than price gouging, it's fraud.
Report them! Take photos of them and put their faces out there in the neighbourhood
yes, he needs to go away or just get hit by a bus/Semi....wht IS it with these uncultured swine!??!
Now this is ridiculous!!! Like why ?? I have 10 ppl in my house and 3 of those will do us for a month if we had to be locked in this is just messed up
You should be hiding your face and watching your back greedy slut.
I'd rather poop in the woods, and wipe my butt with a leaf, than buy toilet paper from one of those a-holes.
That is intent to distribute and needs to go to jail for 6 years. I is amazing to me that this many people are beyond disgusting. I pray the Lord gets their attention some way. Maybe make them homeless for 5 years. Let them see what is like to have nothing
I would say good luck trying that, but no...hope he doesn't have any luck. he's likely to get slapped with that $10,000 fine. fingers crossed for the greedy bastard to get caught up
They should report this douche-canoe to the local authorities. They’re cracking down on “entrepreneurs.”
he should be arrested for pretending to be a human being when he is really a parasite
You're the Grinch who should be given plenty toilet paper and then flushed in said toilet

I hope the authorities distribute this guy's toilet paper out to those who ACTUALLY NEED IT.
Hope he gets mice and rats in there. They like it to make nests.
Facebook should block him, anytime I see anyone selling toilet paper, paper towels, or cold medicines I flag them for unauthorized sales with Facebook
I heard state/government stepped in and said no to reselling it. You bought it you use it!
That product will be in shitty shape, being stacked like that without cartons.

Don’t cover up the names of people like this. A little public shaming would do them good.
They could get more than just public shaming though, that's why their identities have to be kept private

Blessing in disguise that I came home this weekend and I live next to the largest grocery store in Illinois. That said, even they are running out of stuff. Still grateful that for at least a few weeks we will be stocked up.
To be fair that's not a whole lot; they might have a big family...or the shits?!

There's an easy way to solve this issue...criminal prosecution to the hoarders and price gougers. They do it all the time when there are natural disasters like hurricanes. That's what the declaration of the state of emergencies are...an attempt to freeze prices and open prosecutions for hoarding and to release funds to help with such crisis. This is no different. Prosecute the little B**tards.
Make them go pick up trash at the side of the road. In orange vests that say "Hoarder" on the back.
Nah, don’t. A lot of people might “accidentally” hit them.
Make them donate the items .
I agree with you but then we run into the problem that many jails/prisons are encountering. The overpopulation is having to deal with exposure. Correction Officers do not live at the prisons and run a risk of exposure and then take it with them back to the prisons and the inmates. So when we prosecute the price gougers, where do we take them? The only thing I can think of is that the cities/counties that want to prosecute will keep an eye on the offenders and when this has cleared up, then arrest them. Oh and AlphaPuck, price gouging is against the law once the President declares a pandemic. It's not supply and demand dipshit, it's just being greedy and an asshole!
They don't need to be jailed just heavily fined.
@Carol Emory First we don't know if visitations were cut off in time to prevent exposure. Second, any incoming inmates may have already been exposed thus spreading it to others in the prisons. Third, if there aren't enough test kits to go around for the general public, what makes you think that a Warden in any prison is going to have enough to test the guards that many times during the duration of this pandemic? Fourth, here in the US the punishment must fit the crime and putting anyone into isolation without probable cause is a direct violation of the 8th Amendment. Another thing to remember is that people who are arrested but haven't been to court for entering a plea and sentencing will sit in a jail. People come and go in a jail and that is truly where the most exposure will exist. Just going to court will risk exposure there too.
The prisons are an isolated community. It is going to be one of the guards contracting the virus on the outside and taking it into the prison. Those prisoners aren't going to 'Magically' get the virus & pass it on to a guard.
Jim King what
@Mama Panda the overpopulation is not dealing with exposure because they've cut off visitations and access to the prisoners during this time to prevent the spread. Only the guards are allowed to come and go. Any Warden worth his salt will have the guards tested at each shift exchange to assure everyone is safe. As for the hoarders and price gougers..all they need to do is keep them isolated from the rest of the prison for 14 days. Maybe a short stint in isolation will be enough to make them realize what a truly jerkish thing they've done.
@drarry you must have majored in Drama because that was a stellar performance. There is no blood when someone hoards TP. Plus if you need that much TP then you should see a doctor. Unless stores limit purchases then these people are not breaking any laws.

So you are saying that those who act like idiots should be prosecuted? And the rest of us should have laws that restrict our Liberties as a result? Come On Carol! These fools will learn that their impulse is their loss, and all over the two most basic human drives around: Fear & Greed.

Supply and Demand Carol... not hard to understand. While I agree they are assholes who normally arent prepared for a crisis, its a free country. So free in fact that I have been enjoying going out to restaurants with no wait times.
Don't treat her like she's stupid. She's trying to offer solutions for our current problems, give her some respect.
Just a simple rule of max 2 items of any article per person would have made hoarding almost impossible. The government could have issued a directive to all shops to instate that rule as soon as the idiots started hoarding. But Trump was too busy trying to buy a German firm that is very close to finding a cure for Corona.
In Poland in many shops there is this kind of max 3 items per person limit and it really works!
In the US, the government and the economy are largely (but not entirely) separate. The government prevents trusts and breaks up monopolies, but for the most part lets it do its own thing. The president isn't the ruler of the country, he is the person at the head of the executive branch. He enforces laws, he signs bills into laws, but doesn't propose them; that is what our legislative branch is for. Even if a bill that would limit purchasing were to be introduced, it would take ~250 days on average to get it onto the president's desk for signing, but it's only got a 10% chance to even get that far. But in 250 days, we'd have a vaccine or an almost-ready vaccine. People won't be panic-buying, so the law lacks a purpose unless there's another pandemic. I don't understand why Trump is blamed
Don't you have some kind of "emergency law type", which could come into force in a day or so? Honestly asking. We have this in Italy for emergencies.
Exactly what I was thinking... *sigh*
That goes against capitalism though, which is the only thing most in the current government care about.
A lot of the major grocery store chains in America issued a statement saying that corporate was allowing store managers to limit purchases in each store. But... it is left up to each store manager's own discretion. So far, only one store in my area has issued limits, but only on toilet paper. I still can't find hand sanitizer! I work with at risk individuals and I cannot feasibly wash my hands every time one of those little boogers touches me. Also, if I miss work, I don't qualify for compensation.
Then they will give money to their kids to buy more. Like some cunts in Australia are doing.
I agree 100% - stip them wehile their are in the shop...
I hope the Karma train runs all of these selfish reverse Robin Hoods over and over and over until there is nothing left but pulp. These photos and people make me sick! Yeah everyone wants world peace until there is a pandemic....fucking assholes!!!!
Take from the poor, sell to the rich. Pretty sad.
The bigger the asshole, the more toilet paper they need, right?
😄
CherryAmy lol
Lol
Just watch - they'll be standing in line to return all of those once this is over. I hope the stores don't let them return anything. Stupid greedy people. Remember Y2K? I knew someone that hundreds of rice bags. She tried to return them and the store didn't let her. It was funny.
The store I work in and many others have already instilled a no returns policy, they're urging/suggesting that any no longer wanted items, be donated, serves them right for being so damn greedy.
Oh, y2k. This did actually make me think of that. I was 12 then, so sure we were headed for apocalypse I was recording music for posterity *facepalm*
What is y2k?
This reminds me of Y2K as well. Same type of crazy hoarders.
The problem does not lie with customers panic buying, it lies with the shops and outlets not restricting the number of each product customer may buy. If shops did this, their shelves would not be empty, so perhaps they had already worked this out.
No. the problem lies with the assholes. The shops reacted too slow, that's true, but it's still the assholes' fault in the first place.
I agree somewhat. Stores could place limits, especially when someone has carts and/or crates of the stuff.
Rene Browning love
librariall lol
I worked at dollar general (usa). Every Saturday we have a coupon where items are a certain percent off, or priced super low, or buy 2 get 3 free, etc. Every Saturday this lady would come in with a cart load, put it in her car, come back, get another cart load, and when her car was stuffed, she'd take it home then do the same at all the dollar general in the county. Every Saturday. She showed us pics of her huge basement once. It literally has shelves upon shelves upon shelves of dollar general items, food, paper products, etc. Her basement looks like a HUGE dollar general store. Now she says she boxes items up and gives them to the poor and to shelters. All I can say is 1. Oh I hope she does. 2.shes a bitch tho because others can't buy the products at the store 3.limits won't work as people will come with 3, 4 5 or more family members and each grab items, and they'll go back in a few hours later. Some Humans are scum.
I bet the managers/owners were excited for the big boost in sales and not about keeping shelves stocked
I bought 3 containers of disinfectant wipes, 2 small bottles of hand sanitizer, 1 refill sized bottle of hand soap, 2 cans of lysol and just enough people and pet food for about a month. Every time I put something in my cart I would check the shelves to make sure there was plenty for others (I shopped early). It's important to take care of yourself and be prepared, but it's also important that we think of others, especially the elderly. I have a family member in his 70's who lives with me, which is why I needed to shop early and hole up to keep him safe.
I wish more people could appropriately forward plan, as you have! Hardly anyone seems to realise there's a middle ground between hoarding and partying in crowds
I did something similar when this started in Korea, where I live. I ordered online though since the I'm pregnant and the outbreak had already begun with a super spreader and the country is small. I just keep ordering fresh groceries online, I have that luxury. I focused on some canned soup, dried goods, and some frozen foods. 1 bottle of hand sanitizer, more hand soap, and 2 chlorox disinfectant wipes.
Psychotherapist friend offered some perspective: it's not panic buying so much as trying to control an uncontrollable situation. These maniacs somehow think that if they have 300 rolls of toilet paper, everything will be fine.
I would've gone after the canned, dried, and frozen foods. That way at least the bulk of my grocery shopping is done for the next month..
I don't get it, why the big demand for toilet paper?
Because people are idiots who don't know how to use water and soap. Same for the gel.
Because there are a lot of new receipes on the internet for gourmet cooking with toiletpaper.
In case they have to quarantine & can't go out, but it's not like we don't have delivery from Wal-Mart & Amazon.
Right? Better starve than live with a dirty butt.
