Seal Chased By 12 Hungry Killer Whales Jumps Onto Guy’s Boat For Help
Last Monday, a terrified seal jumped onto the back of a tour boat off the coast of Vancouver Island, Canada to escape a hungry pod of killer whales. The extraordinary event was caught on camera by YouTuber Kirk Fraser and went viral soon after.
“We had four or five orcas all at once sitting at the back of the boat straight up and down sort of looking at the seal,” tour guide Nick Templeman told CNN. “They would dive and they would all disappear – about 12 of them – and you can see shape after shape trying to come up from under the boat.”
Though Templeman has been whale watching for 20 years, it’s the first time he’s seen such an extreme orca hunt. “The seal did get scared during the encounter,” explained Templeman. “He would get in the water, swim back up and get back on the boat. This was not one family group but three or four family groups.” Luckily for the seal, after about a half-an-hour, the orcas gave up and disappeared. “The seal took a few minutes, went into the water, hesitated around the engines and then left,” added Templeman. The little guy was cheered by the tourists as he swam off.

Share on FacebookIf you want him to stay safe on the boat and can obviously see that he's scared of you then why keep getting really near him with your camera, stepping around him and shouting most of the time? I mean he's a scared seal surrounded by 12 orcas, give it a freaking break!
When 12 hungry orcas are lurking around your boat, stalking the seal who just jumped on board, please do: (1. hang around on the edge of your boat very carelessly. Orcas are naturally your best friends, they will sing songs and play games with you in case you happen to fall off! (2. Stick your hand in the water. The well mannered orcas will probably shake it, some times they might even kiss it! 3.) Seals study human behavior in school. Thanks to their good education, all seals will understand that "silly noisy hoomin with big clicky thing" is harmless and just wants to take some pictures for facebook and instagram. If the seal makes a wrong move, shouting directions usually helps, since all seals are known to be fluent in human. ಠ_ಠ
I'm surprised the tourists didn't throw him in the water to get a great video. Tourists that do this kind of boat tours are so stupid usualy...
