As it turned out, not only are they being taken care of very well, many of them are also provided with the chance to go on adventures. Take for instance these adorable penguins from Shedd Aquarium. The lovely gang of sea birds was allowed to stroll around the empty aquarium after it was closed due to the pandemic. People absolutely love the video of their little ‘field trip’, which inspired other zookeepers to do the same.

The idea of letting the animals tour the aquarium during the outbreak is brilliant. The sea lion looks like he enjoyed it.
That sea lion seems to be well looked after. He even gets back rubs.

SeaWorld is not an aquarium. Aquariums, like zoos, operate as not-for-profit businesses and are under the same regulations/standards as NFP museums. Just to be clear, SeaWorld is a for-profit business that makes millions from the abuse of animals. I agree this post is "cute," but, in this case, "cute" is deceiving.

He is so cute!!! I wish I had chosen a different path in my life. I should have become a zoologist instead of a forensic psychologist. I think working with animals such as Birri would have been much more rewarding than trying to figure out why criminals do what they do.
Figuring why criminals do what they do is extremely important. If one can figure out why, one may be able to prevent what ever crime to happen again and even catch a criminal. I admire you deeply.
Thank you. The process is rewarding, however there is no end in sight as to why criminals do what they do. There are so many types of crime and so many types of people. It isn't nature vs nurture but instead a combination of both. Now one has to figure out how much of a role ethnic practices, religion, and socioeconomic values, to name a few, play into the causation of criminal behavior. It was and still is fascinating but I think zoology would suit me better as in I love animals not so much criminals.
Is it too late?
Unfortunately, it is too late. I am in my mid 50s and am disabled. I would not be able to perform the job requirements. Maybe next life.
To be clear: Employees at SeaWorld are NOT zoologists. The people they hire to work with animals have zero experience with wild or tame animals. I experienced this firsthand when I was there in the early 00s. I highly recommend watching Blackfish to see how corrupt and unprofessional the business of SeaWorld is.
I am aware of what happens at Sea World and still think a qualified zoologist would be beneficial. I will take a gander at Blackfish tho, as it sounds like an interesting documentary. Thanks for the input.
maybe he was looking for: 1) A seal of approval 2) Paul McCartney 3) Leaving no Tern unstoned 4) Offering himself as the spokesman for Coca-cola 5) Looking through the window at for him was a buffet 6) A higher porpoise in life (gag) 7) Dance partners for a happy feet dance off 8) Reassuring the fish that these humans still do not know mermaids are real 9) Trying to tell people that the barking noises sea lions make translates into, "Baby Shark doo doo doo doodoo...." 10) That's Nemo I know it.
