"School" – a divisive word that evokes only the best emotions in some but gives a serious case of the heebie-jeebies to others.

The greatest part is that we get to be free from the bare realities of life; nobody assumes that we're going to conquer the world or tackle any mountains. We're expected to experience that unburdened existence and be carefree without having to fear any consequences – however, this doesn't mean that this lovely phase will guarantee you a completely stress-free time. After all, nobody canceled all the all-nighters that you're probably going to pull just to meet yet another deadline that you've left until the last minute.

Memes of the dank, but for school” – to reminisce about bittersweet school memories or to make that boring lesson pass a little faster, this online community dedicates its postings to memes that every student, ex or current, is bound to find relatable. The subreddit has been blessing netizens with content from October 2017 – and, since then, has managed to get over 28.5K active members.

Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever” – this powerful quote from the widely recognized politician and spiritual leader, Mahatma Gandhi, is something that every one of us has heard a couple of times in our lifetime, or at least a variation of it.

We're often told that life is a continuous learning cycle and that everyone has their own path that is filled with mistakes that we're destined to learn from.

Well, formal education is one of the numerous options that will aid in your knowledge expansion and the development of the abilities you'll need throughout your life.

We're born into this world without a single droplet of knowledge. We're learning day by day from our parents, siblings, grandparents, and those who choose to take part in our upbringing.

With our loved ones' guidance, we master the most important things that promise us a bright future, and once we're ready to spread our wings, we get passed onto an educator whose responsibility is to broaden that given knowledge, as well as help us to acquire competence and virtue.

Teachers are arguably the most crucial members of our society. At the end of the day, what is taught to children at an early age stays with them for the rest of their life.

Now, it's not uncommon to dread the first day of school; it doesn't matter if it's your first time or if you're just returning from your wildly adventurous (or not) summer break.

Chances are, your caregivers have told you something along the lines of "school time equals top time," and that it'd be in your best interest to cherish this period because once you finally get that full-time position, you'll be left with a couple of grey hairs, deteriorated mental health, and the good old school days to reminisce about on those tiring evenings.

Quite frankly, all of this is very close to the truth, and the majority will probably agree that those reckless and thoughtless school days were, in fact, the best ones.

My teachers make a point of picking the people who do that, so I just act like I know the answer when I really haven't got a clue.

Moreover, formal education does wonders for your social life. You'll spend your days beside buddies that will most likely stick around till adulthood.

They'll be the reason you want to wake up and get on that crowded bus just so you can sit together in your Science class.

Maintaining a friendship is not always that easy, and you're guaranteed to fall out at least once or twice – however, the often-mentioned carefreeness will help you to pick things up right where you left them and re-establish lost contact in approximately 2-4 business days.

Of course, let's not forget that everyone's experience is different, and not everybody is lucky to have a close-knit class and educators that are willing to go out of their way to give you the best support possible.

There'll be time when your school days will feel too long and that's totally okay. It's crucial to remember that the "best days" are not limited to your school years and that there's plenty more goodness to come.

We had a supply teacher every so often. He kept horses. Bring horses up and he would talk about them forever. So we did, every lesson.

We had a supply reacher in middle school who dropped tbe curriculum completely to tell us all the myths of ancient Greece and draw amazingly detailed characters in chalk on the board. Even the difficult kids were really engaged with it. Loved that teacher!

Yeah, but now as an adult I realize they were doing the same thing we were: saying "f**k it, I'm really not in the mood for this Roman Empire b******t, we'll start on it tomorrow."

Our teacher was in love with the whole class and always planned party time or funny excursions 😆 quickly gave us some homework at the beginning of the lesson, then we had time to plan fun times. We didn't even have to get him there as he enjoyed spending leisure with us too! It's almost 30 yrs ago and we all graduated, despite many many parties! I believe we are still a legend because almost all classmates stuck together and we're still hanging out. Some of us just have had a nice evening at local funfair yesterday 🤜🏼🤛🏼

My legal studies teacher would give us the required work, but then we would have fun discussions and had pizza ordered to the class a few times. When we finished high school, a few of us kept in touch with him and went for coffee a couple of times.

I had a college professor who would then write questions about the stories he told on the exam. We stopped distracting him.

My legal studies teacher did a similar thing, but it was a joke sheet. Once we filled that out he gave us the real exam. I think I still have mine :)

I had several teacher that weren't qualified to teach but could tell stories better than Stephen King. And could get them sidetracked quicker than a meth addict into telling those stories.

We had a man who retired from teaching full time but would substitute on occasion. He served in the Navy in the South Pacific in WWII. A lot of times he would bring up how the lessons related to being in the war. For example " You needed to know your decimals during the war." Once this happened everyone would ask questions about the war and he would tell stories the rest of class that had nothing to do with the original lesson. We loved it!

Had a teacher that we would occasionally get side tracked for a whole class period. Everyone would work to keep him off topic asking questions about whatever issue would be irritating him. Years later I discovered that these same topics came up every year during this class. Even to the effect that witty comments that 'bright 'students might make were planned into the conversation.

Haha, this reminds me of a Finance teacher I had, if we would ask her about religion she would just starting talking about that for hours... Don't ask me what I learned there though, hahaha!

I had a math teacher who was a Vietnam vet and former ambulance driver. He had Stories. Of course I would work while listening, so I was the only one not upset when he expected the assigned work to still be done when we had all class to work on it.

My class did this during my 3rd period in French...we started talking. And we said to the teacher "Look a the clock". It was 10:30...class ended at 35!

My high school English teacher would drop random knowledge on us through the lessons. Just random s**t, like Santa's reindeers kind of thing. Well, he actually put questions on the exams regarding the little random things he'd say. They were extra credit points but in the event you knew the fact or were paying attention for that moment made a hell of a difference.if you couldn't remember the structure of a story or wtf a haiku is

We had a very clever man, with an Oxbridge degree, teaching us Anthony and Cleopatra. He was very, very smart, but had absolutely no common sense AT ALL. We once compared the play to a pair of underpants. Bless him, he didn't realise we were winding him up and he went with it. Talked absolute, tenous rubbish, which was of no use to us whatsoever in understanding the play. I have no idea how he managed in the real world. Needless to say, he wasn't a teacher for very long.

I'll choose the teacher to give us an assignment, cause his story made the whole class snoring. So... I'll choose assignment so the teacher can shut up

Ok this is young people culture that I don't really know, but from the memes it looks like the Indian teachers putting stuff on YouTube saved the education on the covid years. Tell me if I'm wrong? And why isn't this a thing for all the effin education already? Last time I was in any kind of a lecture was about 20 years ago. Hope you left thank yous for the YouTube teachers :)

I can see how memorizing facts is less relevant because of Google but not why Astrophysics is less relevant. Also, it isn't like schools are forcing people to learn Physics, you'd have to elect to take courses at that level.

waking up at 6:10, learning things i will forget later in life, getting told off for something my friend did, almost falling asleep in maths ... wow. The dream.
