I'm Canadian and I can tell you full well that Those geese are not wimpy. tell that to my broken arm when I was a kid. apparently goslings are not that cute at least when moms around.
Never had a personal experience with those geese, yet (LUCKILY!). But I also steer clear of them, whenever we cross paths... in Europe.

Hey!! I'm from Canada, and believe me Canadian Geese are not wimpy! they will chase you and beat you up, if you go to close to them. But a eagle is a predator and a Canadian goose isn't. The eagle is used to hunting and the goose doesn't have much predators in the sky, so they don't need to avoid anything really.
