Companies are outdoing each other in development plans for their employees, who are bored already with various conferences, training sessions, and coaching.

A new fascinating trend that breaks the mold has just appeared on the market – training through theatre spectacle! This new development category is called “Teach Art Spectacle” and is currently being copyrighted.

Sounds quirky? What’ll they come up with next to brainwash people? Perhaps, but in actual fact, the market is accepting the concept pretty well. In Warsaw, two spectacles have been given already and attracted a full turnout, and further ones are to appear soon. Furthermore, companies order the product for their internal meetings.

Obviously, business is just as interested in art, as art is in business.

“Art (as broadly interpreted category) appeals to senses, inspires creativity, and is an effective medium, which is why it’s a great method of influencing employees attitudes”, says one of the project initiators, Roman Kawszyn.

To ensure project’s success, initiators of Teach Art Spectacle collaborated with one of the most well-known and appreciated Polish script writers Doman Nowakowski (creator of iconic 39 i pół and Skrzydlate świnie), and together they created script appealing to particular, business viewer. The first spectacle is titled “Nieboski fuck-up” and is intended to develop commercial competences.

The spectacle premièred on December 4 in Teatr Kamienica in Warsaw, and besides corporate employees, it was seen by journalists.
“We saw a need of bringing fresh air into the training market, and now we are the element combining art and personal development. People encounter this for the first time, come because they’re curious, and leave truly moved”, says Adam Szaran.

The performance tells a story of Sales Representative Adam Seller who, just like the main character in Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, dies and has to face ghosts of the past. The first part of the spectacle is a laughter-inducing grotesque, the second – causes reflection and tears. The performance shows typical problems of seller’s life and is full to the brim of ironically used corpo-speak, thanks to which viewers identify themselves with the main character and have fun laughing at corporate reality.

Initiators of Teach Art Spectacle are Adam Szaran and Roman Kawszyn, owners of Al Fianco Partners training brand, who are already planning further brand development and other spectacles intended to develop various competences of corporate employees.

Cast: Adrianna Kućmierz, Roman Kawszyn, Adam Szaran, Michał Mazurczak

Script: Doman Nowakowski and Krystian Nowakowski
Director: Maciej Margas

Place: Teatr Kamienica in Warsaw; Internal performances available on request of the company.
