And this is how we become a community. I'd like to think this is more than a pr stunt. They could have just given money to fix holes, like other companies donate money to causes, but no. They slapped thier name on it. Part pr stunt I'm sure, but at least the community knows they are deff helping out somewhere. People like to see visual improvements. And when a pizza chain gets it done faster than your tax paid city, well that says something, and leaves some real good feels.
Call me a pessimist but give money to fix holes and it will vanish into a different kind of black hole only to appear in someone's 'bonus' package. But i agree with you, we are bombarded with advertising in every other facet of our lives - at least this has a positive outcome.

Really like this company even more now! I live in suburban area that has a somewhat rough reputation, even though it's not all that way. They are the only pizza place that will deliver and they absolutely have the nicest drivers. One even took back the wrong pop I ordered one time and brought what I wanted instead. And to go to a convenience store to get some. (Yes, I tipped her very well.) I make sure to always tip the drivers as much as I can afford, they are doing a real service for me and I appreciate it. I also make sure the company gets good reviews.
As much as i hate Domino's pizza's this is brilliant! I just hope they are better at repairing the roads as they are making pizza!!
This is really nice! I don't really like their pizza, but this was a great thing for them to do and I respect them for that.

They could have use a different approach in PR terms, but the company did something that benefited the community. and that, my friends, is the right thing to do!

This is a super awesome move - but I am still glad that I live in a country where the local governments (usually) fix the roads! Hurray for paying taxes!! :-)

I don't know about anybody else, but I find this depressing. Should a pizza company be fixing the streets? No - they shouldn't have to. But they do have to, because between the pressures of urban sprawl (meaning there's more pavement to need repair), the drop in tax revenues (mainly because of tax cuts to "job creators" who then don't create jobs) and the increased cost of repaving due to privatization (private paving companies end up costing municipalities 3 to 4 times what it would cost to have public employees do it, but public employees have to be paid pensions and benefits and such, so municipalities think that it will be cheaper - even though it's not), cities and towns can't afford to keep up with infrastructure.
Well... That's certainly the pessimistic view of this... I honestly love everything about this.

Private enterprise is what makes America great. Private companies have always been more efficient than government. Why shouldn't they get good PR from this? They deserve it. They saw a need and fixed it.
