The average working person has to put more effort into their job compared to what they are being paid for. That is why when you buy something, you want to get the most from your money, as it doesn’t come easy, but on the other side, there are companies and businesses that want to earn more from consumers and will charge more than their products are worth.
People get disappointed in their purchases all the time and what is a better place to let out the frustration than social media? Bored Panda searched the internet for unfair deals that people got that made them feel ripped off and put them in this list.

This “Blueberry” Muffin I Just Ordered
If you carefully look through the list, you may notice that the most common thing people get mad about paying a lot of money for is food. They pay a lot and expect quality, taste and quantity, but receive something that looks worse than dog food.
It is understandable that they get mad as you can’t return food and get your money back. Also, you are already possibly angry because you are hungry and were looking forward to having a relaxing meal.
This $10 Salad I Paid For At A Restaurant
$3 Pasta Salad I Ordered From Jamie Oliver’s Airport Restaurant
What is the most frustrating thing in these kinds of situations is that the expectations are high. Often people associate a higher price with quality and if you pay extra for something, you expect more than you usually get.
Widewall confirms this tendency and claims that people will purposefully buy the more expensive alternative for the expectation for it to last longer or break later than the cheaper thing would, “The higher the cost of an item, the higher the hopes of the consumer. Why buy an iPhone charger from Apple for $19.99 when you could get one at the dollar store? It is because, for many, expense translates directly to quality.”
When our expectations aren’t met, “it can lead to feelings of disappointment, frustration, and even anger” that some people come to let out on social media, which becomes entertainment for others.

First Overseas Flight In 9 Years! Paid Extra For A Window Seat So I Can See Everything
Use websites like seatguru. They let you know if your seat it good or bad. Things like if the overhead bins by the seat have safety equipment in them, misaligned or missing windows, some seats are narrower than others on the flight too. I've gotten out of a few "bad" seats because of them.
Ordered The Brisket Nachos. Got A Pound Of Kraft Singles
The Toilet Paper At The University I Pay $20k A Year To Go To
This list clearly shows that more expensive things are not necessarily better and maybe our expectations are too high. A study showed that when people were served wine that they didn’t know the price of by a server who also had no clue what wine they were pouring, the “individuals who are unaware of the price generally do not like the expensive wine more. The results showed they enjoyed less expensive wine a little more.”
Maybe a solution to this could be reading reviews as they will allow you to create realistic expectations of what you might receive. A survey by Brightlocal showed that “77% of consumers ‘always’ or ‘regularly’ read online reviews when browsing for local businesses” and 49% “trust customer reviews as much as personal recommendations from family and friends.” Which shows that this strategy is working for them.

Picture Shows 8 Mozzarella Sticks, I Received 3. It Cost $12
Yes, but that's organic, free-range, antibiotic-free, non-GMO, homeschooled, non-chemical, hand-fertilised, gently-used, baby romaine harvested under moonlight by specially trained gerbils. You think that stuff's cheap? Plus, it comes with invisible honey mustard, and that costs extra.
I Paid $25 To Go To A “Halloween House” And This Was One Of The “Game Areas”
I Paid $18 At Chipotle For This
That's surprising to me. I usually have very good experiences with Chipotle, and the dish is always loaded.
Same, it can get a little expensive but they usually give you twice the food and it looks more appetizing
Load More Replies...NEVER, NEVER, NEVVVERRRRRRRR.....order Chipotle for delivery....They did me dirty like that the one and only time I ordered for delivery. I was so pissed Door Dash gave me a refund when I sent the pic. It was like a handful of lettuce, a half a spoon of chicken, and a hot mess totaling a massive $18 plus delivery fee and tip...take my advice, you need to physically go there and stare into their souls while they make that bowl to make sure you get your monies worth!
stare into their souls...🧐🤣😂🤣😂 you right, tho. i ordered chipotle thru grubhub exactly one time. never again.
Load More Replies...They probably overpaid because they got it through doordash or Uber eats cause that doesn't look like a bowl with enough add-ons to make it worth $18
I figured the cost of a Taco Bell order. Total was $16.16. I checked Door Dash it would have cost just over $28.00. TB is than a mile away. I also really dislike the fact that places that used to offer their own delivery using a service instead.
Load More Replies...How do you manage an $18 burrito bowl there in the first place?
They’ve been in a lot of trouble for skimping on portions at some locations!!
I think they dropped it spat on it put in the dirty sink burped on it as well as cover it with dust
I have no idea what this , what it is supposed to be or why I would pay $18 for it.
Hard to believe. I eat at Chipotle pretty regularly, and my $11 (extra meat) bowl is near overflowing every time.
My mom never wanted to go to eat food at a restaurant until it had been open for a few hours. She said when drunk people come in they only eat a little food and leave. She said when they open the next day they heat up the food that was left the night before and serve it before serving the new meals. So...how early did you go to the restaurant??
Jeez...I love chipotle! The one closest to me is awesome my orders are always perfect and right on time. They have something they call the Chipotlane which is basically a pick up window. You drive up give your name and they hand you your food. Very simple and convenient. I've never ordered it for delivery so I can't really comment on that. Also my husband and I eat there probably 2-3 times a month and we've never gotten sick. It's one of our favorite treats!
you WATCH THEM make the food. why didn't you say something??? I know if your introverted(like myself) you might be pretty hesitant, but come on
The one by me closed the lobby. Only way to get food is order with an app & pick up at window. You do not see it made. Once they were put of chips and jad no way to even credit me after I paid for it. They told me to ask for credit in the app. They gave me credit for free chips with next purchase. Which expired in 30 days. They ised to be a good place to eat, now they just suck.
Load More Replies...Well it looks yummy but not worth 18 bucks. Or maybe I am just hungry.

Most of these demonstrate sending your food bavk and refusing to pay for this c**p
Load More Replies...Caveat emptor. Let the buyer beware. It's an old saying to watch out what you buy from some people.
Some of these make me go Eh. Everyone knows theme park food is outrageously priced. Everyone knows your portions will usually be better when you eat-in rather than grab take-out from any restaurant. Plus, some of these were items that the buyer could probably see prior to purchasing and chose to be it anyway (fruit cup, school lunch, etc). So complaining about those is completely pointless.
And this is why I cook. I really believe restaurants have gone down since the pandemic started. I have tried restaurants several times this year. All were pretty bad --- and expensive.
This article just shows that food is so cheap in America. Double all the prices and you'd be closer to what we get in my country...for the same standard.
where is that saying from? ive never heard it before.
Load More Replies...If I couldn’t make it all the way through the post due to frustration and rage, is it me or these people ?!
I feel like at LEAST 3/4 were just made up "I asked for extra cheese and this" but was their own meal and they posted it
Load More Replies...A burrito for $11.70 should come with rice and beans and garnish and sauces.
I returned a shop vacuum once and explained i was returning it because it DIDN'T suck...it really took a minute to sink in.
so many people said "I paid extra" when it was probably only like seventy five cents extra.
Oh my goodness you poor unfortunate souls! F*ck off with your first world problems! You had money to pay for food that was made for you. Go to the grocery store or how about experience some actual tragedy and see how important this c**p is... Anyone on here complaining is so detached from actual hardship - it's pathetic. Get it together & call yourselves a whaaaaaambulance
Most of these dont even mention the us, in fact some of them mention other countries. Plus are you seriously judging a whole country because some bad festurants out of 100000s of good ones?
