Tumblr User Explained What It Means To Be A Billionaire, And It Will Make You Feel Poor
It doesn’t matter how hard we all try to avoid being materialistic, the thought of becoming a billionaire has crossed everyone’s mind at least once, and there is no need to deny it. And even though not everyone can become one of the world’s richest people, for many of us we only wish to have enough to support ourselves and our families (ok and maybe enough to splurge on a vacation here and there).
So what is it actually like to have so much money you don’t have to think for a second before you buy a new phone or a car or even a plane? Well, one Tumblr user, The Last Meme Era, has explained what you could actually buy if you became a billionaire one day, and it’s more than you could imagine. In an interview with Bored Panda, he explained the idea behind this post: “Basically I guessed that most people probably don’t have a clear concept of what a billion dollars actually is, and if I could put it into practical terms that are easy to understand, people would be shocked at just how rich the world’s wealthiest people are. Hopefully people might be moved to become more socially engaged if they had a better picture of how society distributes economic resources.”

Another good way to put it into perspective: If you made $500,000 per week, you would have so much money that you would struggle to even figure out how to spend it. You would probably have to hire a team of people to search for creative new ways to spoil yourself. First of all, the mansion at the beginning of this article did not cost $4.6 million to build. That is entirely b******t. The framing alone in that house is that much. I build houses, and even 30 years ago, you couldn't build that house for $5M. So I stopped reading this article.

A lot of people might think negatively about billionaires after reading this but then, aside from the heirs,heiresses, oligarchs .. a lot of them actually worked damn hard and much much smart to earn that money and that's what capitalism is all about, I have been working for a year right out of college, and I got a 30% hike and another fresher colleague of mine didn't get anything, ohh boy now that is unfair, but did you wonder , that while he was smoking pot, doing what's asked and following orders..I was mentoring interns, proposing new ideas, leading teams of people older, more experienced than me . The pie has grown and will continue to: billions of people have escaped poverty in recent decades, globally speaking, and that has come from a mix of capitalism, law & order, govt. regulation, public investments in education & health, & more female equality.

A lot of people might think negatively about billionaires after reading this but then, aside from the heirs,heiresses, oligarchs .. a lot of them actually worked damn hard and much much smart to earn that money and that's what capitalism is all about, I have been working for a year right out of college, and I got a 30% hike and another fresher colleague of mine didn't get anything, ohh boy now that is unfair, but did you wonder , that while he was smoking pot, doing what's asked and following orders..I was mentoring interns, proposing new ideas, leading teams of people older, more experienced than me . So no, A billion is a lot of money, but people in general are meant to serve, otherwise they would step up and outrage, the system keeps things in place..some people are happy at the bottom .. some people will ensure to get to the top..In the end .. evolution wins, some are happy building a family, some will go to any means and edure anything to build a legacy.

Truly ending world hunger would require a lot more money - to end corruption in many of the countries affected, to build massive irrigation systems so crops and stock survive, to stop the feuding and wars in these countries that prevent these places from developing normally, and many other things besides I would imagine. I often wonder if a lot of Africa's problems originate from all their young and healthy people being stolen for slavery. The countries who are now rich and first world because of slave labour owe Africa a lot.
