Man Dumps His Dog Near Dunkin’ Donuts With A Note Stuck To Her Collar That Will Break Your Heart

One heartless New Mexico man doesn’t deserve a single bit of ‘happy’ for 2018. Recently, Santa Fe police issued a statement, seeking information on a person who is suspected of abandoning a dog at the Dunkin’ Donuts on Cerrillos Road. And even though many owners who leave their pets behind avoid justice, the authorities hope that with the help from the public this case can be different.

Surveillance footage shows that the man drove up in a dark-colored Chevy van. “The male opened his door and let the dog out of the vehicle with the note attached to its neck,” Santa Fe police wrote. “The man then proceeded to go into Dunkin’ Donuts and order a cup of coffee. The dog followed the man from the vehicle to the front door of the business but was ignored by the man.”

He then drove away, leaving the pup alone. “I’m free,” the note read. “I’m having babies.” While the police are searching for any information that could lead to the suspect, the dog is under the care of Santa Fe Animal Shelter and Humane Society. “She is social and loves people,” they told The Dodo. “We still do not know if she is pregnant — too early to tell. [But] the safety of the dog was not the person’s main concern.”

Everyone who can provide any information about the individual who dumped her, please contact Santa Fe animal control at 505-955-2708, or call anonymously via Crime Stoppers, at 505-955-5050.

A man drove to Dunkin’ Donuts in New Mexico to buy a cup of coffee but that’s only half of the story

Sadly, the other half is an example of how cold-hearted some people are

I am so thankful of american people that care so much about pour animals. If this story is bad, you should see what is going on in Romania, I believe every night people abandon dogs to where I live, very often we find new dogs in the morning, lost and confused. Wish with all my heart that somebody will do something about this situation.

...That man is heartless, we do not know the reason yet for his abandonment of the dog but I hope it's not petty. He could've left her in a shelter instead of leaving her in a public place. I am glad Dunkin Donuts took her to a shelter. Here's to hoping 2018 will find her a new loving family and will be happy with them.

A dog is a lifelong commitment. Even if it's a legit reason like, having to move to a retirement home where the dog is not welcome etc, he could still look for a new home for the dog or take her to a shelter. Just glad he left her in an busy-public area instead of the forest or whatever...

I hate people who abandon pets like this. If you really can't do it anymore. At least bring them to a good shelter! In stead of being like this and abandon an animal on the streets. That is so sad. They love you like only pet's can. And this is what they get in return? That saddens me so much..

Firstly, there doesn't seem to be any indication that the man that dropped her out, actually belonged to HIM. Secondly, he did drop her in a place of business, write a note to let others know the deal and she looks healthy to me. There may be more to the story... as always.

Nothing will happen to this man and as much of an animal lover as I am I kind of believe nothing should happen to him he didn't dump the dog in the country somewhere he didn't he put it in a place where she would immediately be found by someone he left a note saying that he was not keeping the dog anymore obviously so that people would not waste time looking for an owner she could be assessed and moved on to a proper home immediately he actually did have a much nicer thing than many people would have done many shelters when you go in to take your dog if you if you're trying to surrender it will say no they have no room they will guilt you out the a*s hole for it perhaps you're just left the shelter that has turned him down it's so easy to judge a story without knowing all the facts and I am the first person that would drop kick a person for hurting an animal but I also have seen other sides of stories what he did was not cruel it could very well have been his last option

The wish for tragedy to strike should not be aimed at the man's family -- they may be completely innocent. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a heartbroken kid missing his/her dog, because someone callous enough to do this to the poor dog probably doesn't give a sh*t about his children's feelings. But, if tragedy strikes the jerk himself, well, that would be a classic case of karmic justice.

I wish I could adopt, but to eliminate much of the dander that makes me sneeze, my family would have to have a purebred poodle or other "hypoallergenic" breed. I know it's the proteins in saliva and urine, but it's much better with dogs of that sort.

My (now Ex-) husband tried to do that to my dog. He dumped my dog on the beach. Someone who worked at the bait stand found him and called my phone # on the now rusted tag. (By this time, my dog was skin and bones.) My husband answered and said they had wrong #. Hours later, they called again and I answered. I went and got my dog and cared for him until he recovered from the ordeal. This incident was the beginning of the end for that marriage!...

3rd try to share this post now, notebook freezes again permanently and just needed the first forced switch-off of the day (and new start), at least the heartless man didn´t dump the pup in the middle of nowhere, so since she has a fair chance to find a furever loving home now this is my feelgood rescue story of the day now!!! <3 <3 <3 And if that guy was my neighbour I´d recognize him instead of his cap, I might not be able to tell the police his name because we have 90 appartments here in the scyscraper, but eventually I could tell them on which floor he lives or ask the police to show the pic to our houskeeper who knows EVERY neighbour with name, also from the twin scyscraper next to ours where he´s also housekeeper, and somebody MUST recognize him that way... So they should get him!!! (y) (y) (y)

I hope to live long enough to see stringently enforced animal abuse penalties at both the local and federal levels. Humans who dump their animals do not belong to the human race. They should be condemned to suffer like retributions which they have placed upon their pets. For surely, they have, or shortly will, abuse their spouses, kids, etc., with a high potential to become a serial killer. This beautiful pup will surely be so much better off with a loving family than somehow having to remain with this immoral, filthy, ignorant excuse for a human.

This happens to the elderly and others who are different or need help! If u ever get to the point of not being able to take care or handle your own business, all it takes is two pole to say ur nutz and u get locked up and are either a ward of the state or evil family. Without ANY doctor info! It shouldn't happen to this dog but what can we expect these days of me forst?! I have seen this happen to people in my own family! I suppose like Roald Andresen, everyone would like to look on the bright side. The man who dumped his dog will probably not change much. He is in his senior years. But it once again reinforces what I think about humans. I have very little regard for people beyond my family because they can't be trusted. My dogs, however, would protect me with their lives, so I care for them above and beyond. I would go without if it means they have to be fed and attended to by the vet. You would think that beings endowed with intellect would think beyond their noses, and I don't really care about the circumstances. He could have taken his dog to a shelter. But, then again, he's a human

No one knows why he did this. Could be just she is having puppies, could be someone dumped her on his property, like they do all the time at mine. He put where she would be seen and thankfully she was. Better there, than drowning the pups and shooting her. I dont know the laws, do they have to pay to put in a shelter..... all the facts are needed to judge.

Well somebody must know who this cold hearted bastard is? But the reality is he is recorded and if the New Mexico Police Department can't find this idiot with a clear picture of his face and vehicle then they are as much to blame as he is. People are so cruel and should be punished for such evil acts.

I wouldn't even dare buying a pet from a pet store, let alone giving one to them. Their treatment of animals is atrocious! Best to do research, and give the pet to a person who is able to give better love and care to said pet.

Because, people like the person that abandoned the dog, deserve to be exposed. I'm sure if someone robbed you, or did something wrong to you, you'd want everyone to know of their wrong doings?

I hope he is found by someone and taken out into the middle of nowhere and left alone without anything and made to fend for himself since that's apparently what he feels is appropriate for a living thing. AND how f*****g lazy and heartless do u have to be to not even take her to a shelter???? I mean really to not even give her that opportunity.... ugh I hope this man has the shittiest rest of his life

I hate it when people are being cruel to animals...but at least that man put the dog in good hands, BUT HE COULD HAVE JUST SENT THE POOR DOG TO A PET STORE OR SOMETHING
