If you spend your days surfing the never-ending Instagram feed, you might've already heard of a freelance illustrator called Isabelle Staub, who rocked the platform with her fresh reimaginings of classic Disney Princesses. What you might not know, though, is that this series also helped the artist to get out of a serious creative block.

“I’ve always loved Disney since I was a child, so I decided to paint the princesses in my own art style for fun,” Isabelle told DesignTaxi. And she really got into it, spending from 8 to 12 hours recreate each image. Almost the whole process is done in the Corel Painter, with only a few last touches done with Photoshop.

"I’m definitely ready to start a new series! Someone requested villains, which I think would be really cool. But I might give the whole Disney theme a rest for a while.”

Right now she's in the first stages of illustrating her own children's book, so keep refreshing her Instagram and Etsy pages for more awesome works.

The first one doesn't have make up and lip surgery, but the second one looks cool too :D

A bunch of people in this comment section should be ashamed. This artist took the time and effort to try. And THAT should be recognized. :)

They don't have to look very realistic. And besides, they look more realistic than the 2D cartoons they're based on.

People are complaining only because the title says that the princesses are made to look realistic ... The artwork sure is amazing !

And also, the 'Kylie lips' should not matter either. You shouldn't bomb people's work with hate comments.

If you're commenting negatively you're literally a hater. Half of y'all can't even DRAW. Shut up, these pictures are amazing 😍

I wouldn't say 'realistic', it's just in a different style.

There sure are a lot of snide comments here. Can it be ... jealousy ... coming from folks who know they lack any talent whatsoever? I think these "3d" versions of old, simplistic cartoon characters are terrific.

people cant seem to say anything except negative things about these beautiful drawings, whats wrong with this world. Just a bunch of empty criticism. What a shame. If you who comments that can draw better, go ahead and do it + post it for everyone to see, otherwise just dont say anything at all! Ridiculous, i mean literally every drawing has the same comment!

It looks good but the hair looks too shiny. Like she placed oil in it or something.

I couldn't tell how much I despise this style. Like Bratz meet Kardashians.

I guess they all got lip injections. Just what little kids need, unrealistic standards.

Unless the actual artist says so, i doubt that they were suppose to look "realistic" to begin with. this is a style often used y anime artists, the over shininess of their skin and all, however it's just a different rendition/fanart of disney girls. nothing more, take this page's title with a huge grain of salt.

Older version is much prettier. No innocence in the newer version and too shiny.

First of all, they're not more realistic, and second, I wouldn't want to be the person who did this, Disney is CRAZY about their trademark laws.

I am the artist who did these- I never once said I wanted these to look realistic. I just painted the princesses in my own art style for fun! It's not that serious.
