30 New Comics By A Medical Student Who Once Hesitated To Make Comics, But Now Has Over 100K Followers
At the beginning of 2019, a medical student with dreams of becoming a cardiologist submitted her comics to Bored Panda. "I've wanted to draw comics for a while now but never really had the guts to, up until recently," Amy Revives wrote then.
Fast forward nearly two years, and the project now has nearly 100K followers on Instagram.
Step by step, Amy has not only developed her own visual style, but she has become an efficient storyteller as well. Focusing on quirky characters and their interactions, she constantly comes up with new ways to look at life and everything it has to offer. Whether it's following recipes in the kitchen or trying to wear a summer dress on a windy day, continue scrolling and check out what Amy has been up to!

Through medicine, Amy has learned that while the physical body is very important to one's well-being, their mental health is vital to a good life as well. The student said that she may not be able to help someone with the physical aspect for now, but she hopes that her comics can help their mental side. "Laughter and smiling flood the body and brain with happy chemicals and overall lift your mood, make you feel more energized and reduce stress. Through my comics, I hope to be able to bring a beautiful wide grin to your face and, at least momentarily, let you forget about your worries."
Amy has always loved doing art in her free time. "I was drawing before I knew how to walk, and probably even talk — though they probably didn't look like much at the time."
When she was 12, Amy got her very first drawing tablet. The immediate excitement had her bouncing off the walls with pure pleasure. "I spent countless late nights practicing and getting to know the digital world of art. I explored realism as well as abstract but found that I was most happy making comics about daily life," she said.
For those that are confused with her measuring techniques, some measure using a scale as opposed to using cups.

I have realized, like my mom, I cannot enjoy the food I prepared for others more than the food others prepared for me.
this is sad but true. healthy stuff is usually too expensive for people on a lower income to buy. but it should be accessible to all :(
omg this is my freind and i hate It but don't tell her. she also always criticizes me on my table manners (putting the knife in the wrong place, etc) IK my family feels the same way because after she comes over for dinner they all give me a lecture to close my mouth while I'm eating.

My hair is so weird, like one day I'll wake up and it's straight and another day it'll be as curly as can be. It's so weird, and I have no idea why.
Pro tip: Mark the wings with your eyes open, that way, you'll know how it will look. If you do it with your eyes closed, the wing often ends up a lot lower or more wonky when you open your eye.
I would be happy. Fewer people around to bother me. Especially when it comes to the movie theater.

I wonder about the hand color. Does the artist have a different skin tone on her hands irl?
It's because I used to be terrible at drawings hands, so I just drew spidery black balls at the ends of each arm- even though I can draw hands now, I prefer to keep them shaded as a humble reminder of my beginnings ;D The other explanation is that I'm genetically part red panda (red hair and dark hands and feet)

a lot of people are asking about the black hands and feet. a lot of artists have their own little quirks to make their art unique. maybe it’s a signature hairstyle, certain poses that the characters always do, or even missing facial features. I think that black hands and feet are just this artist’s quirk.
Love the comics. But the title..? - "111 Comics By A Medical Student Who Never Had The Guts To Become A Comic Artist, But Finally Dared To (New Pics)" I would get it if its the first.. 10.. ever. But, these comics surely don't looks like someone who finally dared to be a comic artist, but have been it for quite some time. Even if you only draw comics for your self, your still an artist.
