Do you often catch yourself fantasizing about the times when you didn't have to work, had no taxes, but always had freshly laundered clothes and sheets along with decent food on your table? Do you have a newly found respect for your parents? If you answered yes, then (sorry to break it to you), you are an adult. Being an adult is hard, but being a fresh one is the hardest, I'm sure a 20-something like me can relate to that. Not only is there suddenly no time to do practically anything you love, there's also the pressure of getting married, having children, buying a house while also maintaining a great career. No wonder so many of us are having the so called quarter life crisis. The expectations are too high and the stress is just too huge!
But there's always a silver lining. Bored Panda collected some of the most relatable comics abut the struggles of adulthood so you'd remember that we're all in this mess together!

This is so true i literally teared up. AGGH toughen up you mushy thing!
And here we have a Dalek squishy alien with almost no feels on the inside, but heavy copper metal in the outside shell!! -DW- 😯🤗
This one actually makes me want to jump off a bridge. Or take an upper.
Brain: You know what we haven't thought about in a while? Me: What? Brain: Demons! Me: Why brain why Me: *doesn't sleep all night*
So I guess that's where the expression "killing two birds with one stone" comes from...
calvin and hobbes has a lot of hilarious comics about the truth of adulthood
I'm pretty sure there was something up the list that involved ice cream that was like this...
So that's why my dentist plans for next year keep getting cancelled.
That's exactly what's happening to me right now. Got 3 games I wanna play (or more), have time for none. The irony is, I'm working at a game company, and playing video games is actually part of my job. The assigned games, though. Which are fun and addictive too, but they're not Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest.
I couldn't decide throughout the comic whether the doctor was a man or a woman.
Just eat ramen and take cheap multivitamin by the tripe. There. You'll stay healthy.
It's natural. Try some Street Sweeper Simulator or Viscera Cleanup Detail if real life cleaning is too much.
There's some people who focus on buying a house... I read every single "house" in this collection as horse, and I thought "RICH PRICKS!!! DAMN YOU!!!"
Adulthood is like a bear trap. You're innocently walking around without a clue- and poof, you're pulled into a scenario that you don't want to exist in, and you kinda wanna die, but your morals keep you alive until a hunter comes along and kills you.
so adults DON'T have life figured out. I wonder if I will by the time I'm dead.
Whoever relates to these cartoons has a poor outlook on life, I had some hard years but have had a good time most of the way through. At 40 I'm fitter, faster and stronger than ever doing pretty much what I want when I want. Don't waste money and there will usually be enough in the kitty to do most things within reason which is why I don't work anywhere near as hard as in my 20's. I earn less but have a much better easier job and don't need the money, plus more time to do what I want. Zero debts, no kids and only occasional women when I can be bothered. Time to think about and study subjects such as whether NASA really went to the moon or if the earth is flat. Much better to be an adult than a kid who is told what to do and how to think.
This is soooo true. 😪 Adulthood is scary af. 😱 It's filled with responsibilities and all sorts of things to worry about, which causes you to stress over every little things in your life. 😪 I want to be a kid again sooo bad. 😥😂
As an 'adulting' author myself, I always stop to look at these and find them amusing. However, they can also make my job a little harder because people laugh and think this is how it is so this is how it has to stay. Aging and adulting can be difficult but I think sometimes stuff like this can demonize aging and perpetuate our youth-centred culture. I'm happy to get older and I personally found being in my twenties a lot more tedious! {If you're into it, check me at beingthirties.com} ;)
