It’s the eternal cats vs dogs debate, one that both sides are equally passionate about and one that can never really be settled. Or can it? Pet Foolery, the genius behind one of our very favorite comic strip series Pixie and Brutus, has weighed in on the argument with a new funny comic that lists all the reasons why ‘cats are superior to dogs.’
Now, as you soon see, this webcomic might be ever so slightly biased. Nevertheless, there are some strong arguments for an emphatic victory in the battle of the pets, and the beautiful cats are smarter, cleaner, and better at looking after themselves. These are indisputable facts, unarguable by silly dogs.
The tendency to consider oneself as a ‘cat person’ or a ‘dog person’ is quite understandable, given that they have naturally conflicting temperaments. Dogs are more social and playful while cats prefer their independence; one has to earn the attention of a cat while a dogs’ love is unconditional. The personality of the human quite naturally gravitates one way or the other, but do you really have to choose? With some careful introductions and a little bit of luck, cats and dogs can live together in relative harmony. Why choose one side or another when you can have both? You only have to read Pixie and Brutus to see what can happen when these opposites attract and the sparks fly!

I wish someone would tell my cat he is supposed to be quieter than my dog. Sure my dog barks anytime someone knocks on my door, but for some reason at 4:00 or 5:00am every morning my cat needs to sing me the song of his people.
My dogs bark if someone is driving up to my house or if they see a vulture. My sisters cat meows loudly to be petted every time she sees people.

My dog- barks a night if she's in the yard Solution- bring get inside Cat- meows very loudly nonstop for like 30 minutes when I let him in and he just follows me around the house. Solution- none. Petting, food, and cleaning the litter box does not quiet him. Must assume he is telling me about his day so I must listen until he is done.
I’m glad they showed the last frame, I was about to be a bit pissed off. Lol. Seriously though, dogs are just as intelligent and as awesome as cats are. Of course I had to go back and actually read the title, and that gave it away along with the other writing. Haha

With my experience, I love both cats and dogs, dogs may protect you, but cats are clean of course, and don't bark, if you prefer dogs, get ear plugs !!!

I love both but prefer cats. I hate how people have to make it a competition between these two beautiful animals though. We can appreciate both without having to knock one or the other down.
Okay, so this is either gonna ruin some people’s opinions. But guess what...neither animal is perfect. Both animals have some bad sides that you just have to deal with. So deal with and stop trying to convince people you’re right.

I don't know. My cat is awfully loud at ungodly hours of the morning, caterwauling at random shadow monsters in the bedroom. Then it attempts to smother me if I don't wake up in the wee hours of the morning and feed it.
BUT, dogs love you for who you are. They love you because you are their family, because they trust you, because you love them. Cats don't love you and if they do, it's only cause you give them food. I love both cats and dogs but I WOULD pick dogs over cats and c'mon. You know it's true.

yea... no for starters, when cats clean themselves, they barf up there own hair which causes a greater mess. You still gotta wash your cat sometime often. I get that number 2 would be annoying but they bark when they see an animal such as a squirrel. The third one is for BIG dogs only, if it was a small dog then it would be just like a cat. HOWERVER, THE 4th ONE MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL... have you ever seen the Sphinx cat? or the Oriental Shorthair? Why not search up cute puppies like beagles or huskies, maybe that will change your mind but either way however made these comics are just lowlife cat lovers. edit: oh wait nvm lmao
A " cats only" woman was staying with us for a few weeks. At breakfast, she started in on how much smarter cats were. Our dog was sitting a few feet away. I started eating and next thing, our dog's nose was about 3 inches from my plate. I looked down and said "Maisie, on the rug". Her spot at the back door when we were eating. She looked up "Who , me???" "Maisie. ON THE RUG." OK. Me I guess. So she wiggled her butt backwards, side to side until the base of her tail just touched the rug and she stopped. I had neglected to say how far on the rug. My comment to our guest. "That dog should have been a lawyer". No more "smart cats".
My favorite thing when it's raining/snowing heavily is to go near a window with a cup of hot coffee/chocolate, holding my purring cat with my other hand and greeting the cold and wet poop collectors outside with an evil grin.
So your cat goes in a litter tray or in other people's gardens. You either scoop its s**t or other people have to do it.

NO WAY! Have you ever heard of a police cat? How about assistance dogs? How about dogs who work with our military heroes. The dogs are heroes too. Dogs will not hesitate to put their lives on the line for their families or colleagues. Cats walk all over the counter where you prepare your food, usually after they use the litter box. I do blame the owners who think that "FluffY' has to get time outside...at which time they do recreational killing (billions of birds and small mammals every year). I own a ranch, and will live trap cats and take them to animal control. I have caught them stalking baby birds. I have had a few barn cats, but don't ever plan on getting another. We have had peeps dump them on our place. Finally, there is a scene in the film CLOCKWORK ORANGE where a lady has a home invasion, there are cats everywhere. The punks assault her and all these cats just ignore the situation. A dog would have protected her.
A Clockwork Orange is fiction- not comparable. There are plenty of examples (yes, less than dogs) of cats saving their owners lives. Hunting is natural etc etc. Dogs do seem to possess an ingrained ability to protect.
