Artist Comes Up With Cursed Imagery As He Tries Realistically Recreating ‘The Simpsons’ Characters

We’re used to seeing the Simpsons and everyone from their show on our screens but character artist Hossein Diba is about to change that. His recreations of the famous cast are so good, they look like someone you could meet in real life.
And if anyone could’ve pulled such a series off, it’s Diba. The Turkey-based artist specializes in modeling, sculpting, texturing, and shading of characters for games, cinema, 3D prints, and more, and his skills are simply next-level.
You could say the quarantine is what made this project possible. All of its bad effects aside, it gave Diba more free time to spend on his art and try out the things he has always wanted to do but couldn’t cram into his busy schedule.

Diba has been designing characters and all kinds of creatures since 2008. He said that arguably the most important factor which allows him to excel in his work is having a very strong knowledge of human anatomy.

“When watching The Simpsons, I was always wondering how those characters and their body shapes would look like with realistic touches in details and textures,” Diba told Bored Panda. “I have always wanted to do something like this.”

Diba said that he tried his best to keep the true spirit of each character when he was recreating them. Although he was going for realistic designs, he really wanted them to still look similar to the original versions, so that people wouldn’t lose their connections to them.

The series began with Hossein’s version of Homer, which already has over 9,000 likes on Instagram. People are describing it as the best realistic Homer rendering they have ever seen and the artist said he agrees with those who say it’s a bit unsettling.
However, Diba doesn’t think that all of his recreations of the characters from The Simpsons are terrifying or creepy. He finds some of them cute as well.
