50 Of The Most Entertaining Real Estate Listings This FB Page Found (New Pics)
The real estate market is a place where every day, someone is trying to cash out their unfinished DIY projects, long-neglected inheritances, and failed investments.
One Lithuanian "broker" — which, in reality, is just a parody Facebook page — collects the funniest unhinged local listings to show how colorful the outliers in this Northern European country can be.
While most buyers are looking at historic downtown apartments, modern new offices, and practical condos, let's explore open houses in the periphery — even those that should be closed shut and demolished.

For all those people who like to shower in the kitchen with an audience sitting on the couch. I wonder where they keep the toilet?
There's a small closet-shaped area behind the shower, I think that's it.
Load More Replies...The curtains look like they can be pulled down. Not really that weird.
Not helped by the wide angle picture that distorts the room even further
Load More Replies...There would be permanent bruises on my knees from this bed. No thank you
I'm not even sure what I'm seeing! It looks like a telephoto lens. This shot males it look like the bed is 12ft long. The whole room screams date-r8pe.
I think it is just a really, really ugly lamp. It does look like it, though.
Load More Replies...I feel like I’d scare the stuffing out of myself every morning with those huge mirrors! :D
Under the floors there will be earth. Possibly toxic, definitely solid, maybe concrete - bodies will likely be in the garden ;>
Load More Replies...In this case "it has good bones" is probably literal.
Load More Replies...Walls are clad. Ceiling has tiles (and has been lowered). Units are covered. Carpets throughout (including kitchen). What exactly is the condition of the structure?
I'm worried for you if that's the colour of your mustard.
Load More Replies...That door looks like they dipped the entire thing in a vat of shellac.
I can *see* the cigarette smoke in the light fixture.
Load More Replies...Paisley. I think that would complete the nightmare.
Load More Replies...Perhaps not a good choice but a choice nonetheless
Load More Replies...Taste is a personal thing , admittingly this looks like c**p but it is only a wall hanging
However, grtting rid of that framed wallpaper/ pink walls will take some work.
Load More Replies..."It's okay honey, I know this was your sister's old room but we'll redecorate and make it into a rough-and-tumble boys hangout!"
With the horns locked, they could not untangle them, so they had to leave them where they were
I was thinking the same! It's certainly clean and colours are easy to change. Compared to most of them, this is almost palatial.
Load More Replies...This is giving me Jim Morrison This is the End vibes….if you know well then you know!
I quite like this one, actually, in a rather perverse way. It's a real design decision, at least, unlike so many of the other examples. Needs better lighting though.
I like it too. Keeps the water in, step thru, hold onto sides... I like it
Load More Replies...... and it should be a drain, considering how much runoff from the shower will wind up out there.
Load More Replies...The belle jar on the table is the giveaway.
Load More Replies...Yes, agreed. As a home care worker for the aged community, this is a very familiar style of house
Load More Replies...Ah yes, so inviting. Crinkle crinkle when you sit down, then if you're wearing shorts you're stuck like glue.
Load More Replies...Actually very similar to inlaws’ basement. Yes Italian
Load More Replies...Why do they have a kitchen table in the living room? Get rid of the panelling.
I don't see any paneling, anywhere. Lots of wallpaper.
Load More Replies...Thanks for bringing the tile to my attention. I was so preoccupied with the water lines that I didn't notice it - or is it them?
Load More Replies...Don’t underestimate the awesomeness that is a warm towel after a hot shower on a cold winter day. I just put a heated towel rack in my own bathroom
When using the toilet is no longer thrilling, add the risk of being crushed
I think so! With the risk of clean clothes falling into the toilet if you stand on the rim without the cover down!
Load More Replies...If you look closer, one of the bricks is crooked/falling out by the balcony wall.
Load More Replies...So….does the toilet water go into the washer? Genuinely confused here!
Get rid of the antlers, blue wallpaper and the couch with the pink rabbit and this would be okay,
I think 🤔 the pink bunny really ties the room together.
Load More Replies...Just a lil bit. Shouldn’t be more than $40000. $50000 tops. Promise 🤞
Load More Replies...I think so and then they rolled the body up in the rug and disposed of it.
Load More Replies...Shovel out the garbage, put up some different curtains, put a fresh coat of varnish on the floor, and this could be nice.
Picture walls like this were wildly popular back in the seventies—-and were done to death to boot. If you grew up around this kind of faddish decor, you NEVER want to see it again. It will NEVER even be allowed in your own house.
Do you remember the door posters that covered the entire door? I never saw one in real life but I desperately wanted one that made your door look like a stable door with a horse looking out over the bottom half.
Load More Replies...If the decor had a kind of a cabin feel to it, then maybe. But it would still be a stretch.
Load More Replies...Imagine it without the furniture and decorations. A projection screen and theater seating. A bar to the side and maybe a popcorn machine
Not a fan of the wallpaper or the choice of flooring…put in natural wood floors to match the ceiling and it would be gorgeous in my opinion!
Maybe hall? Lots of door. Mirrors could be to open the space, as ceiling quite low.
Load More Replies...FYI. Skelbiu is a Lithuanian website for classified ads. That explains the pine walls, but, sadly, it doesn't explain anything else in this room
I'm getting some church vibes here, like a fellowship hall or a reading room.
"What's wrong with this? The floor is gorgeous! I guess the fire place is a little odd. Wait, what is over the fireplace? OH, oh I see. THAT is what is wrong here "
They are wonderful, for the first 6 months, then you find yourself rug shopping because you're tired of being dizzy from the floor pattern. I've had them and they were awesome for less than a year. You do you, though.
Load More Replies...The chimney is blocked and urgently needs sweeping. Also looks as though the art-deco reproduction chimney breast is hiding some previous disaster. This place is a fire waiting to happen.
Load More Replies...I'm guessing that the fireplace is in one of those European tile stoves. My only concern is the scorch marks on the left side of the unit.
It's not wallpaper. It's hand painted to look like an old stone wall with bits of plaster missing. The attempt was not successful.
Load More Replies...Alrght, what's wrong with this one? wallpaper might not be pretty, but otherwise it looks like it's in decent shape.
You can rent the room but; you can't decorate or change the furnishings.
In some places, the toilet and sink are separated from the bath/shower. At least I hope there's a half bath in that house/apartment.
Most likely only toilet, not even full half-bath. And yes, it is pretty normal in Lithuania, in apartments - though not everywhere. Old standard construction. Usually live not only couples, so it make sense to have separate spaces, otherwise it would be a problem to get a nice soak in bathtub.
Load More Replies...Old Europe houses are very small, no bath/toilet or sinks. Toilet came first. In a small space mainly in a closet, then put in a bathtub and washing machine.
Someone thinks they’re a great artist (airbrush, maybe?) and is using the walls as their canvas when they should be using the side of a cargo van instead.
I'd say they ARE a great artist. Just maybe use a canvas instead of the walls.
Load More Replies...Get rid of the tiger painting and the moldy looking wall paper and it’s not bad!
What exactly is terrible here? I can see it's ugly, but as long as it's functional and in decent shape, there's no problem. New owner will change it as they see fit.
Exercising in the kitchen? Seems cruel to me…I’d be thinking about what’s in the fridge the whole time!
Eh? Once again in English, perhaps? I mean, I know what each word means, but...
Load More Replies...Pff, just remove that nonsense around doorway and antlers and it's good.
All the storage, a built-in vanity, aah! The beautiful floor!!! Definitely needs different furniture and paint to match the warm dark wood, different light fixtures and some wall decor, but not bad
Yeah. The “bones” for this one are good, it’s just that whoever lives there needs to pull everything together with furniture, drapes, and richer colors, maybe a nice complementary rug as well, that warm it up and look more apropos to the basic design of the room.
Load More Replies...This like some of the others is all in the perspective of the photograph. I think if you're actually standing in this one it would look even better than it already does
I'll bet something awful is lurking in that cupboard in back of the toilet.
I'm surprised he's not wearing a HAZMAT suit.
Load More Replies...True, colors can be changed. Went from a cedar color to a lt gray with our siding, with white trim accents. Got a LOT of compliments.
Load More Replies...Strange interior design choices. As a new tenant, I'd bring my own textiles, possibly change the wallpaper. The room is in good condition.
In the UK, tenants (ie those who rent) are not allowed to decorate or redecorate.
Load More Replies...Thematically consistent. The room was decorated by dumbbells.
Load More Replies...I wonder if you can sniff the wallpaper like the lickable wallpaper in Wonka's factory.
Because it is expensive to change. These are not rentals, they are owned. Central heating.
Load More Replies...I don't know why, but that wallpaper design makes it look like the walls are bleeding roses.
I guess they were removed when the body that was sitting on them was.
Load More Replies...Assuming these photos are actually being used to sell/rent a space, why the disgusting mess ?
The walls are kind of pretty, and the floor would be gorgeous if refinished.
Oh, yes! So easy to hose down when you're .... finished.
Load More Replies...The outside is too stark for my liking but might look cool with metal and wood trim and a different paint color. The inside could be very cool if finished right.
Those towels are beyond disgusting! Well so is the rest of the place but my eyes went to the towels first.
What are all the dots on the wall? (side note — I tried rubbing them off my screen lol)
Well, when you need a downstairs half bath, and you have a good size empty space under the stairs…
No. That's the one aspect of this layout that I approve of.
Load More Replies...I like this one. But what are those stairs? Are they just for show and you use them as shelves?
As someone who lays and sleeps mostly on their left side, i approve of the placement of the TV
I don’t know, but that would just be putting a coat of paint on a building that looks like it’s buckling.
Load More Replies...What is the green and yellow thing in the corner? At first I thought it was a stove, might have been interesting, but no flue. And what is it going up from it to the light fitting?
That is definitely some kind of stove/warmer thing. The other item is fly paper hanging from the fan lol.
Load More Replies...In the UK we went off cladding (indoor or out) after Grenfell.
Load More Replies...I think I’d prefer to keep the checked cover and get rid of everything else!
Load More Replies...Do those stairs comply with planning requirements? A fall onto that hard floor woulkd not be fun, but, is, I think, inevitable.
It way those bolts come out of the top of each stair makes me think it's unfinished.
Load More Replies...There are at least three serial killers and ten dead bodies in that building
It's up to you to find them in order to get out of the escape room. Good luck!
Load More Replies...Does the closest toilet have faucet? That does not look like a flush valve
This gives me the same feeling of a guy wearing a tuxedo with a cowboy hat
Not for me. The furniture is not cheap, the interior as well - probably no smoke, only fans of brown (as neutral color). In our home no one smoked, but all furniture and carpet were brown, and even walls were with tan/browns. Grew up in Lithuania, smoking is a bit different there. Who can afford better stuff (not from 50-ies or even 70-ies), usually do not smoke or do not smoke inside.
Load More Replies...I think most of these are in Europe—-specifically Eastern Europe—-so the emphasis is more on warm in winter than cool in the one or two weeks in summer when it’s actually hot.
Load More Replies...This looks like the prison rooms in Norway... They are nicer than my son's college dorm.
When I was a teenager, I would’ve loved to have the attic converted into my room. Much more private than a bedroom just down the hall from my parents’ room.
Load More Replies...Nothing wrong with this. Not my taste but if I was a gamer-petrolhead I'd be thrilled.
I'm going to have to learn Lithuanian, and buy the apartment with the smoking tiger mural.....Kiek kainuoja namas?
Your Lithuanian is fine. Good luck learning the rest, it gets complicated.
Load More Replies...There's a few dirty or crazy rooms, but most of it looks fine. Looks like photos were takenin small apartments, where you have to work with every square meter. A lot of people still keep older furniture, because furnishing apartment with new, trendy furniture every season could be pretty expensive. So aside from a few eyesore wallpapers, what is wrong?
In all honesty, most of them are not that bad. Looks like they're very small apartments of poor people who couldn't afford new furniture, or remodeling in general. Where I live, in central Europe, those listings wouldn't be surprising. Most people here live in apartment blocks - is not like in the USA where main mode of accommodation is a house. In cities it's nearly impossible to have one, apart from few smaller neighborhoods, where houses are also pretty old. New ones are built only outside the city limits, in gentrified villages, 30+ minutes away from the city itself. So yeah, second hand listings often contain a flat built in the 60s-90s, that was remodeled long time ago or never. After the WW2 we had to build a lot of places for people, very quickly, because all we had was rubble 🤷♀️ Apartments of more than 60-70 m² are considered big any many of them were occupied by the same family from the day they were built, to the day the last relative died/moved out.
