The real estate market is a place where every day, someone is trying to cash out their unfinished DIY projects, long-neglected inheritances, and failed investments.

One Lithuanian "broker" — which, in reality, is just a parody Facebook page — collects the funniest unhinged local listings to show how colorful the outliers in this Northern European country can be.

While most buyers are looking at historic downtown apartments, modern new offices, and practical condos, let's explore open houses in the periphery — even those that should be closed shut and demolished.

Well it's not a misleading listing, for sure you know what you're going to get. The worst one is (perhaps) the penultimate picture with a sink and mirror/surround that doesn't even line up with the floor tile pattern. Not just in hideous taste but poorly executed as well.

I'm guessing that the fireplace is in one of those European tile stoves. My only concern is the scorch marks on the left side of the unit.

It's not wallpaper. It's hand painted to look like an old stone wall with bits of plaster missing. The attempt was not successful.

Most likely only toilet, not even full half-bath. And yes, it is pretty normal in Lithuania, in apartments - though not everywhere. Old standard construction. Usually live not only couples, so it make sense to have separate spaces, otherwise it would be a problem to get a nice soak in bathtub.

Yeah. The “bones” for this one are good, it’s just that whoever lives there needs to pull everything together with furniture, drapes, and richer colors, maybe a nice complementary rug as well, that warm it up and look more apropos to the basic design of the room.

Not for me. The furniture is not cheap, the interior as well - probably no smoke, only fans of brown (as neutral color). In our home no one smoked, but all furniture and carpet were brown, and even walls were with tan/browns. Grew up in Lithuania, smoking is a bit different there. Who can afford better stuff (not from 50-ies or even 70-ies), usually do not smoke or do not smoke inside.
