Yep, that's me. It's annoying as heck, but cool at the same time. I'm not too bothered about the 'white' period, I'm more miffed about when the blood comes back and the finger or toe starts to burn and tingle.

Yes, it's very painful & there are complications that can result in amputation in the worst case scenario. People with Raynaud's are very susceptible to frostbite, & if we get a cut while there's no blood in our extremities it's very easy for infections to get in. Usually, though, it's little more than a painful inconvenience during the winter.

I have it , my fingers and toes turn white "dead mans fingers" and hurt but it happens so often and randomly , it doesn't need to be super hot or super cold , just a slight change on my body temperature and I am slowly dying... no sense at all on my fingers for quite a good time, I can even hit something so hard and I don't feel anything at all at the moment ... but when blood start flowing normal OUCH !!! Thank you for this post I finally know what is wrong with me and how is it called :)

I used to think everybody got this because all the women in my family have this. We call it 'dead fingers/toes'.. For me it usually doesn't even happen when it's super cold (like -40C) but more around 0 C

Raynaud's syndrome is problem with oxygenating of acral parts of the body- hands, feet, but also lips, nose and ears. It can turn in fact to blue and the person has to wear gloves for a long part of year, f.e. I knew one lady with it and she was always feeling cold and was blue in lips, ears and hands. Never seen her feet, but I assume same problem there.

It's like my FINGERS DIE. THEY TURN BLACK. They will get ice cold to the bone and I will start swearing in French. Then it's to the sink for a bath of skin peeling HOT water until my bones stop hurting.

No. You don't have to have gotten frostbite at any point in time for this to happen - it's a circulatory disorder. People can have it in their hands, their feet, their face, even their ears.

Raynaud's sucks. I have it and I constantly have cold hands and feet. When I get cold I can feel the bones in my hands and they feel like pain. It's great I frequently scare people because my hands turn sorta purple when it's acting up

Yep, my hands used to do this, not so much anymore, thank goodness. I had a particular car that the steering wheel would get REALLY cold and as soon as I would get in and wrap my hands around that steering wheel, I could feel the blood rushing out of my fingers and the familiar tingling.

there are other disorders that can have reynaud's-like symptoms! i have ehlers-danlos and had what we thought might be reynaud's when i was younger. my feet would get all splotchy if i stood still, like when brushing my teeth.

My friend has a fascinating thing like this, only half of her forehead turns red, she has an absolute straight line down the middle of her forehead the other half is white, it happens after exercising. Our other friends father was a doctor who was fascinated by my friend’s forehead.

I was diagnosed with it I was in 6th grade, but my main symptom at the time was that my fingers were swelling up after I warmed them on the bus after waiting at the bus stop during the winter in Massachusetts. They reminded me of when you blow up a plastic glove like a balloon.
