Usually, when you read a history article or story, it's mostly just dry facts and your imagination. But an amazing photo gives something a bit different. It shows you how it all actually looked, letting you understand the historical moment more intimately. Whether it would be a historical landmark, a famous person or random old pictures of the past - they all have fascinating stories behind them, and we're just about to show you.

The brave photojournalists that took these interesting pictures saw the morbidity of wars, documented the creation of an atomic bomb and shot stills of most magnificent constructions being built. You might not be aware that the city of Tel-Aviv used to be just plain dunes or how someone looks after literally falling from space. Keep on scrolling to take a look at Bored Panda's list of rare historical photos that might shine a new light on how you saw these crucial moments.

Wondering how historical photos taken in black and white would look if they were restored in color? Check out this article.

Alien and sets were designed by H.R. Geiger.

The description doesn't state that he designed it himself. Just that he -was- a designer, and the person that wore the suit in the movie.

They're not saying he designed it, he just acted in it.

- for those of you who are a bit confused, let me clarify this for you. - he is not the designer, nor did the description express so, it states that he is a Nigerian Design Student, and one-time actor, wearing his costume. It said nothing about him designing it.

The Mother (Queen) was in the Aliens. This is the actor and costume for the first film - Alien. The Queen from Aliens was actually a puppet and had something like 10 - 15 puppeteers making her work, including the egg sack before it gets blown away by Ripley.

oh my. this is the actor who climbed into this costume to play the alien in the movie 'the alien' - so what is this? metaphor, irony, similie? that he just happens to be a person of african persuasion? ouch.

I don't think his ethnic origin would have been thought of considering he was in a full body suit. And if you watch the films, actors of many 'persuasions' have been in the whole series.
