Even if you're a wildlife lover, you probably meet only a fraction of all the 1,367,555 non-insect species identified on Earth. But don't let this fact sadden you, think about all the rare animals you are yet to discover! We have introduced some of them in the past (here and here), but only their adult form. This time Bored Panda has compiled a list of cute animal babies that you probably didn't know to exist.

From from a fluffy Southern Pudu fawn to a playful Dumbo Octopus, these unusual yet very adorable animals will produce some "awwws" you haven't experienced before. Don't forget to vote for your favorite animal pictures, and if this list wasn't enough to satisfy your hunger for adorable creatures, check out some of the cutest baby animals of all time.

so lucky! Are they easy to take care of? I'd love to have one someday but they seem so delicate to care for.

These are sold in pets shops all over Australia,so not really rare. They do have a tendency of biting off each other's limbs (That's why the little yellow one is stumpy). It's ok though, they can grow them back.

I bought a pair of axolotl from another member of the St. Louis Herpetological Society many years ago. He got his original ones from Mexico where they were rescuing them from becoming extinct due to pollution. Louis & Clark did well in my classroom in a large aquarium for a long time; then Clark died. So I wanted to find a mate for Louis. So my class went to the St. Louis Children's Aquarium where I donated Louis, and his habitat, so that he could live with the one axolotl they had there. We hoped that they would mate. It is very hard to tell their sex until you dissect them, so we never knew what sex they were. They are such darling, sweet-looking creatures. They are very delicate.

That's awful! Jack Dempsey are tropical freshwater axoltls need cold water , he would have eventually died without the chewing kept in that tank.

DD told a Pet Shop owner that his 3 tiny expensive axies were almost dead as he kept them on gravel which they were eating. He gave them to her, the size and colour of a baked bean, they'd nibbled each others' gills and toes. As recommended, she put them in the frig and nursed them back to life. Beautiful gills, tails and toes regenerated they grew to 10 inches long. Mozart was the weakest, you could see a bit of gravel lodged in his gut all his life so he died aged 10 and Bach and Beethoven lived a little longer. RIP beautiful axies, you gave us so much pleasure.

I love axolotl, they are originally from the river canal in Xochimilco, which was built by the Aztecs many centuries ago. I have also seen them in the lake at Chapultepec in Mexico City. Gorgeous creatures.
