On the contrary. Think of it as herd immunity: the population is protected from a disease (a fake narrative) after vaccination (a response) by stopping the germ responsible for the infection being transmitted between people (destroying that absurd fantasy with facts).

There’s also a lot of people that “pretend to be disabled” just to get a disabled seats or parking spot. They use someone else’s Handicapped placard that’s not theirs. My late Mother was disabled for the last 30 years of her life and she saw many people that weren’t disabled do that. So I’ve been very skeptical (since then) when I see someone park in a Disabled spot and walk perfectly to a store, etc.

Even if there wasn't a free seat, this woman is a selfish b***h. Plenty of young people are disabled and have 'invisible' illnesses. I have a severe congenital heart disease and often have to stand an hour on the train to get to my cardiology appointments because people just assume I'm a perfectly healthy young adult and lose their marbles if I try to sit down.
Just sit down, and stop paying attention to what other people think. If you let other people's opinions rule your life, you are going to be miserable most of the time. You are not being impolite; you are sick, you need the seat and you've paid for your ticket, so SIT DOWN!

I had a similar experience once. A young heavily pregnant lady was quietly seated. She held her purse in front of her, so her belly wasnt showing much. An elder lady in her 60, perfectly fit and fine, came and gave a lecture to the entire train how inconsiderate young people are. The pregnant lady got up, showing her huuuge belly and told the older lady to sit down and that she hopes that the other lady is now happy that she made a pregnant woman give up her seat while trying to humiliate her. The older lady sat down and did not apologize... at least another person let the pregnant lady sit too and the old one made a fool out of herselg

Here in Australia, you get fined if you don't give your seat up to someone with special needs, ON REQUEST. If this woman claimed that they didn't offer her a seat without asking, it isn't their fault. Also BS because of the empty seat. I feel kinda bad for the girl looking up, she knew what the lady was trying to pull
Who decides what "special needs" is? Being over a certain age doesn't mean that you can't stand up for a while, and there are younger people who may look healthy but are not, or may be feeling sick, or have a pain.
