Humour is the great thing, the saving thing after all. The minute it crops up, all our hardnesses yield, all our irritations, and resentments flit away, and a sunny spirit takes their place" – Mark Twain.

Humor is one of humankind's greatest blessings, that's for sure. It helps us cope with unpleasant events – take the COVID-19 pandemic, for instance. The unforeseen catastrophe completely drenched us, leaving the majority with frequent anxiety spikes that, to this day, hinder their daily lives.

However, the life-taking disaster, isolation and overall unknowingness made social media a shared space for collective coping.

People began sharing their experiences, their fears and doubts through humor, which essentially made everyone more content in their ability to deal with the pandemic.

The same applies to folks who can't help themselves and utter an occasional joke at funerals. Stress can creep up on us in so many different ways – some prefer to handle it alone, others like to be vocal, yet a little laughter never failed to provide a temporary distraction, giving your mind a break from all the worries.

Besides, we can all probably agree that apart from all the disturbing happenings our lives have brought upon us so far, in today's scenario, catching a break and relaxing seems like a luxury that not everybody can afford.

Hectic work schedules and micromanaging superiors that make your life a living hell, general disappointment in the people that surround you – it all takes a toll on your well-being.

Enjoying a comedy film in your own company, reading a book with a fun twist, or if you're a social media lover, simply following accounts that specialize in joke-related content can act as an exciting pick-me-up that is bound to make you feel better.

Laughing allows us to connect with ourselves and the people around us.

Things like silly puns can lighten up the mood at any social gathering – doesn't matter if it's the Friday night dinner at your parents' place or a work party where you barely know anyone – jokes are incredible and they play a massive role in our social lives.

If said at the right moment, they can impress your colleagues and customers, which could then benefit you and/or your business. Moreover, a well-timed joked can act as a tension releaser for any minor conflicts that could potentially arise between you and your mates.

We live in a world where folks experience different problems, circumstances, and challenges daily.

Our existence is not all about rainbows and butterflies, and it so happens that sometimes, most likely when we least expect it, it hits us in the face. Some people are able to move forward – others require a certain support system.

Having a healthy sense of humor could contribute to your emotional health and soothe your soul with those feel-good hormones.

My dad would always see farmers hanging out in the fields and he'd always say they were outstanding in their field.
