This prolific artist has spent the last 5 years creating a new funny drawing almost every day, and people have taken notice – he has thousands of followers, a successful Etsy shop, and big brands like Nike, Gap and Threadless have all used his drawing ideas! Read on for his answers to Bored Panda’s questions about his work.

“Ideas won’t just pop out easily! As a freelance illustrator, I have to be very disciplined and do a lot of homework,” Heng Swee Lim told Bored Panda.

“My normal practice is going through a lot of data (pictures, article, news, songs, movies, funny puns, etc.) which most likely would spark your creativity, taking notes on every possible object, quote and situation”

“I love to challenge myself and not limit myself to only one style. I think different ideas/stories need different styles of cool drawings to deliver the message”

“I love all of my works but, if have to choose, I will slightly lean to the simple style. A lot of time, when an artwork develops from a simple sketch to a complicated colorful illustration, I don’t always feel right with it and at the end always found that the simple first doodles/sketches are the best”
