Girl Gets Herself A Chalkboard Leg For A Trip To Europe, And The World Falls In Love With Her

A recent college graduate decided to go on a trip around Europe last month, and she did something unique that took her vacation photo game from tacky tourist to viral legend in one Reddit post.
The world traveler, who goes by the username 'devgal,' was born with a congenital bone disease, and had to have her right leg amputated above the knee when she was only 4 years old. Her free spirit, however, remained untouched, as did her sense of humor. So, when she set off from her native Philadelphia to trot the globe, she came up with the genius idea - she spray-painted her prosthetic leg with chalkboard paint, and wrote the name of each city she visited on it to create unique, hilarious, and surprisingly inspiring photos.
"Got myself a chalkboard leg and went on a trip," she captioned her adventure.
As fate would have it, a fellow backpacker whom she crossed paths with at a hostel in Vienna noticed her album on Reddit, and reached out. "Yes! Hi! I hope the rest of your trip was amazing," devgal excitedly replied. Despite her disability, she lives life to the fullest, and with the best possible attitude. "Everyone has sh*t they have to deal with in life, mine just happens to be my leg. It's really not all that bad," she wrote in one comment. I thought Boredpanda was better than clickbaits I scroll past on facebook -_- She seems like a real sweet person to hang around, and her chalkboard leg is a cute idea, but I'm not gonna fall in love with her just because she's missing a leg.

I know it's about her spirit, but the way this post is worded, it's like you're expected to love her for her spirit BECAUSE she lost her leg. Good for her for having a good spirit about it, but I'm not gonna FALL IN LOVE with her because she's not depressed about losing her leg.
I am on board. I want a free trip around Europe. Oh... I thought that was a sign? She lost her leg? She can ride a bike she is fine.
Two things: First, the trip wasn't free. Second, no one claimed she wasn't fine. She never pitied herself or wanted sympathy. She just wanted to share somebody cool photos from her vacation and people are upset that others are enjoying it.

Maybe it seems small to you, but it actually means a lot to me. I've been alone all my life. I don't get support from anyone in this regard. I'm not going to depress you with my life story, but haven't you ever heard been told "treat everyone nice, you never know what they're going through, so just be nice, it's that simple"? I think you could really benefit from that life advice. You might not realize, but you've really been hurting me the last few days we've been going back and forth. It's for that reason I'm not responding to whatever you say next, I can tell nobody is benefitting from anyone here, so I'm just bringing this to an end.
