Running one of the largest, most prosperous and most powerful nations in the world as the President of the United States is a stressful task, and these photos will show what sort of effect that stress can have on a person's health.

The majority of the US presidents pictured here spent about eight years in the presidency, so one could argue that they would have aged one way or another. The stress of their work, however - even for those who spent only four years in office - definitely speeds up the natural aging process.

The four years of Abraham Lincoln's presidency, the most tumultuous in America's history as a nation, left an especially obvious mark on the beleaguered president.

Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and even John F. Kennedy, with his untimely short presidency, all ended their terms with clearly visible changes in their health. Being the president or prime minister of any country can be a stressful experience.

A president is what half of the kids want to be when they grow up, but there are some clearly visible disadvantages in this line of work. See our picks of the famous presidents before and after photos below.

Even discounting the 2016 expression which is a tired look, his face (and hair) speaks volume. Thank you for your service to our nation.

I've been really wondering how come there are no better presidential candidates 2016. This picture finally answers it.

Presidents get elected by the time a man start to show signs of age, i.e. grey hair, wrinkles, bags under eyes. Posting "after" pictures taken in a bad pose to make a point doesn't help either (just google actresses/celebrities without makeup and you know what I mean)

These are two photos of former Egyptian President Husni Mubarak. One is in 1981 when he became president, while the other one was taken in 2010, one year before he was deposed.

However well or badly they do at the job, the ones who put their heart into always age faster, too many sleepless nights.

8 years makes a difference, but the 2nd picture caught him at a bad moment. I think he has aged well along with The First Lady.

Have you seen the Newzoids puppet sketch about David Cameron about him not aging much compared with Barack Obama?

Bunch of c**p. All that you're seeing is someone aging 8 years. There is no evidence that being President ages you faster than any other job

"Worse president ever in my eyes!!" Then you must be blind. You don't need to like the guy, but to say he's the worst president ever shows nothing but your own lack of intelligence. Then again, you did use the word "looser" to describe a human, so maybe your intelligence isn't all that up to par.

With all the private concerts and crazy a*s expensive trips he's taken with our tax dollars but most of all the innocent people he never once tried to protect inoccent blood is on his hands .. He's the worst mistake in America's history of presidency.. My opinion he belongs where he actually came from suffering just like the others he forgot about.

Racial tensions and civil rights groups aged the heck outta him. He probably had threats on his life. He was so stubborn, but knew what needed to be done. He just didn't do it. Aged him a lot. Doing the wrong thing will.
