Running one of the largest, most prosperous and most powerful nations in the world as the President of the United States is a stressful task, and these photos will show what sort of effect that stress can have on a person's health.
The majority of the US presidents pictured here spent about eight years in the presidency, so one could argue that they would have aged one way or another. The stress of their work, however - even for those who spent only four years in office - definitely speeds up the natural aging process.
The four years of Abraham Lincoln's presidency, the most tumultuous in America's history as a nation, left an especially obvious mark on the beleaguered president.
Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and even John F. Kennedy, with his untimely short presidency, all ended their terms with clearly visible changes in their health. Being the president or prime minister of any country can be a stressful experience.
A president is what half of the kids want to be when they grow up, but there are some clearly visible disadvantages in this line of work. See our picks of the famous presidents before and after photos below.

Barack Obama 2008/2016
Abraham Lincoln 1861/1865
Franklin D. Roosevelt 1933/1945
Dwight D. Eisenhower 1953/1961
Harry S. Truman 1945/1953
Racial tensions and civil rights groups aged the heck outta him. He probably had threats on his life. He was so stubborn, but knew what needed to be done. He just didn't do it. Aged him a lot. Doing the wrong thing will.
Ronald Reagan 1981/1989
John F. Kennedy 1961/1963
Richard Nixon 1969/1973
Bill Clinton 1993/2001
Moral of the story, presidents are just like normal people: they all grow older over time
The tolls of stress truly show in these courageous and great men. I'm so proud of them regardless if I agree with them or not, they deserve our respect.
Hillary Clinton already looks like a bag of a******s. Imagine what he country will look like after four years or even worse eight years of her misguided policies.
They should compare Trump from when he began bid to be president to now. I can only imagine what the presidency will do to him.
GREAT IDEA! Y? BC I would NEVER buy a pet from a pet store, but do buy RESCUE ANIMALS! One drawback. I believe that rescue animals have a MUCH BETTER life in Arescue Facilitoes than they will have in pet shops!
You can do this with various countries around the world and american presidents, before and after, too.
Some of the before pictures can't really be compared with the after picture since they were taken in a different situation (official portrait vs snapshot/action shot) with different lighting, wich could make a huge difference on how how the skin appears, lines that become a bit more visible, etc. It is a fact, none the less, that the job of being president really takes it's toll...
Stressful job indeed...who wouldn't age from all the responsibility and weight on your shoulders? Besides, they aren't president because they're gorgeous; they're president because they're intelligent (in theory anyway...since I can't say that's quite true for this upcoming election)....
POTUS is a tough job. Their faces do not show normal stress or ageing.
