To find out more about the community behind the r/Prematurecelebration subreddit, Bored Panda reached out to one of its moderators, u/N8theGr8, who was happy to share some insights.
The mod told us that the subreddit was created by u/potato88, who’s now a suspended user, back in 2013. Some time ago, though, the subreddit had no moderators, so the admins gave it to the current mod team, u/N8theGr8 said.
But since the subreddit revolves around a “kind of niche topic,” it’s not as active as it could be. “But we have half a million subscribers and it stays relatively active,” they added. Right now, the subreddit has 525k members in total and their community is still growing.

When asked about the whole concept of premature celebration that the subreddit as all about, the moderator explained that it “just means celebrating some kind of win or victory before you really should.”
“Like a guy who runs a race and then slows down right at the end to do a victory jump and throw his arms in the air, only to be passed by the 2nd-place guy who then wins the race. Or 'Dewey Defeats Truman' newspaper held up by President Truman.”

The dough was way too warm and buttery, which is why they spread so much. You need more flour and a chilled dough if you want a shaped cookie to keep its shape while baking.
Yeah. There's some chemistry happening during baking, but a few ingredients will do the same thing inside the dough that they'd do if you put it in the oven by itself - e.g. eggs and butter. Butter will make the consistency of the dough more temperature-dependent - hard in the fridge, soft at room temperature, runny in the oven.

Well, that's the wrong type of dough to use for cutouts, isn't it? The looser the dough, the more it will spread when it's baked.
In the beginning it's all about heart. Then it's all about liver, stomach, kidney and other kinds of organs that get fat and sick. That's life.
How is this cringe? this isn't because they didn't use a cookie cutter...so not sure what the cringe is unless they cringe if the fact this was posted as cringe and you never baked before? it's not even a fail...it just something that happens sometimes.
It is a bit cringe (although I'd rather call it "funny") because they bragged about how outside-the-box they were and how unique ('I ain't about the cookie cutter life') and then the cookies turned out to look exactly like every other cookie.
