To find out more about the community behind the r/Prematurecelebration subreddit, Bored Panda reached out to one of its moderators, u/N8theGr8, who was happy to share some insights.
The mod told us that the subreddit was created by u/potato88, who’s now a suspended user, back in 2013. Some time ago, though, the subreddit had no moderators, so the admins gave it to the current mod team, u/N8theGr8 said.
But since the subreddit revolves around a “kind of niche topic,” it’s not as active as it could be. “But we have half a million subscribers and it stays relatively active,” they added. Right now, the subreddit has 525k members in total and their community is still growing.

The upgrade price was only $99, which was an exceptionally good deal at the time. The brand was purchased by Gateway in 2004, and again by Acer in 2007. It was completely discontinued in 2013.

It's not actually obsolete. A 15GB hard drive might not seem all that big, but there's an amazing number of projects you can do. Plus, that's a floppy disk drive. Floppy's were untraceable and could be locked with a built in password. That's why Microsoft got rid of the disks, because USB sticks can be read remotely as long as they are plugged in.

SMH. My current PC has 64GB of RAM and a 16 core processor. Even it will be obsolete at some point.
Technically you can still use it and obsolete is a sales term...if you can do with it what you need done its not obsolete...it may not receive updates or be sold...yet if it works it works. when it stops doing what you need its obsolete.
The small print DOES say that it can be upgraded every 2 years for $99. Apparently that is how they keep the CPU case from becoming obsolete.
