Here’s What Being Pregnant With Triplets Does To Your Body
301Kviews
The chances of getting pregnant with triplets are tiny, one in 8,100 pregnancies to be exact. So, I guess you could call Maria and Anders from Denmark a lucky couple. The family already has a boy, but are preparing to welcome identical triplets to their big family later this month. To document her journey, Maria has been taking pregnancy pictures of her body changes while waiting for the triplets and has amassed over 62,000 followers along the way.
For reasons yet unknown, older women have a higher chance of having twins, triplets or quadruplets than their younger counterparts, so Maria, 36, had a slight advantage. As fun as it may sound, being pregnant with triplets present an increased risk for both the babies and the mother, so close monitoring throughout the period is needed.
Maria calls her last days of pregnancy with triplets “the waiting game.” Most of what she does now consist of binging TV series and podcasts, sleeping and browsing on her phone. Couple that with the kicking of the triplets, pregnancy pains and quite a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions, and you get quite the picture the moments just moments before your due day are no picnic!

“I’m glad we took these pictures. This <…> really shows the massive growth. It’s strange to have ended up with such a big belly and it’s even stranger that it can stand out like that without falling down!”

“In the beginning we feared that I would have to be hospitalized or put to bed rest towards the end, so we are very happy that I’ve made it this far without any serious complications”

“This is me most of the day now: TV series, podcasts, sleeping, browsing on my phone, and so on. Mixed in with babies kicking, heart burn and quite a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions”

That looks painful, I was pretty big with my little boy he was the wight of some peoples full term twins. Good luck to that woman and her family. I hope they give her all the best care when it comes to the birth.
Downvotes? *sigh* trolls....
@Molly Block - not everyone is "for" what? Do you think this pregnant lady conjured up naturally-occurring triplets on purpose? What is there to be "for" or "against"??? Nature?
@ Molly, I'm guessing you must not lead a very satisfying life if you need to go on a BoredPanda thread and call a woman pregnant with triplets an "abomination." I do hope getting all this out of your system provides you some joy, it sounds like you need it.
Wait...what is an abomination Molly???

Yes. I downvoted. Not everyone is for this! Call me a troll, whatever you like, but to me, this is an abomination in excess and it's just gross.
where i live has a record for the largest baby born in the UK - something like 14lb - its a Christmas Turkey
My uncle (born in the 30s) was 14lb. My amazing nan was 4ft 9! :O
My twin niece and nephew with the aid of IVF were born prematurely due to complications. The RAF put on a special flight to get my brother home from the Falklands in time - 5000 mile flight just for him - thank you RAF
My thoughts exactly. Being pregnant with one was bad enough, but three? Yikes! I wonder, does that mean you get to each more ice cream?
They say birth is a miracle, but I think even more the human body with all its abilities is. These three (these six actually!) surely deserve all the luck in the world.
Why so much hate, Molly Block?

Birth is not a miracle. But having the mother survive the pregnancy and birth, and birthing a healthy baby(ies), is a feat. Surviving in a houseful of screaming, crying, and sh*tting toddlers IS the miracle here!
I'm actually ptegnant with twins and these pictures both scare and comfort me as she has to carry one baby more.. Hope everything is good for the family now
@Me:Congrats. I wish you the best.
Thank you, BusLady :)
