Trolls Tell 23-Year-Old Mom Her ‘Disgusting’ Stretch Marks Make Them Want To Vomit, But She Had The Best Response
Stretch marks don’t usually belong to the celebrated side of a postpartum body, but they are part of the experience nonetheless. After having quadruplets, 23-year-old Doreen Ching from Malaysia has decided to share private photos of the impact that giving birth had on her body. Coming to terms with the changes, Doreen hoped this would empower women who are going through the same post-pregnancy stretch marks ordeal. Among the voices of support, however, there were some shouts of hate that described her as ‘ugly’ and ‘disgusting’ to which she served the best comeback possible.
“I received a lot of mummies’ inquiries asking me how to eliminate the scars as you’re gonna be scarred… and that’s the price of having and raising kids, even if you have money,” Doreen wrote. “There’s no way to get rid of it, and it’s like, every day, every day, every day.”
“Only 21 at the time, I wondered how I would be able to accept my stomach looking like this for the rest of my life. The first thing I did when I got out of the delivery room was to look at my stomach and my tears came out. I was cracked up to a very serious kind of rupture and skin tissue was damaged.”
Receiving 23,000 reactions and 12,000 shares, her post was attacked by trolls as well. “I see a lot of people commenting calling me ‘ugly’ and it makes me very sick so much so I want to throw up,” the mom wrote in a follow-up post. “Some men said it was all the woman’s fault for wanting to have so many kids. Do you have any respect for the women of the world? Your mother? Your wife? And a woman who can afford to have children?” It’s clear that this proud mom won’t be threatened by random internet bullies. Kudos to her for keeping her cool and telling the real story and best wishes to her big beautiful family!

Despite the many who applauded her honesty, some commenters had the guts to say that Doreen deserved the marks for ‘having too many kids’

Show me a woman whose belly wouldn't have stretch marks after carrying fricking QUADRUPLETS for 9 months [I'm assuming by the babies being much too similar to be regular siblings] Good god people are thick.
Not onlty that, but she is Asian, which makes her smaller in general than other "Western" women. Not only the physics, but is is only 23! C'mon people, show her respect, she more than deserves. Stretchmarks? Who damn cares!
Not only that, she's only 23! Those marks are permanent, but she's young enough that they WILL fade over time. They aren't going to be that dramatic forever.
Not only that, she had quadruple FIRSTBORNS!!!

Agreed, it's literally impossible to prevent the entirely human and natural creation of stretchmarks. I'm a bloke who grew quite fast when I was 14/15, my back is therefore littered with stretchmarks. It's just being human!
Thats gonna hurt
They seem to be quadruplets because of age, but I don't think they are identical which means they do share the same percentage of genes as regular siblings.
"having too many kids", what, was she supposed to keep two back inside her for a later date?! it's all natural.
😂😂exactly... How can you just stop the birth of too many kids when they're all huddled together in your belly at once ? Some people really don't make any sense...
Sadly, it can be done is and is called "selective reduction". A rather nice way of saying killing off the extra babies.
Thickos.
true. she did not had any say in how many children are going to come from any given pregnancy. It doesnt work like that (tho it would probably be nice if it did...)
yes, i've got 4 babies inside me, I'll have one today, but save the other 3 until later in the year if that's ok?
@stellermatt or maybe like this? I'm going to grow one baby for 9 months, have one, grow another, have another baby, repeat :) Sorry for the word "grow", reminds me of plants, I can't find a better word for now.
those babies are cutie pies
yes! can we focus on the awesome kids she's raising.
Ikr? They are so adorable
Can still wear a bikini at home?? Sweetheart, you should have no shame in wearing a bikini anywhere! Absolutely nothing to be ashamed or self conscious about. Live your life, enjoy your body. Every mark anyone has is just a page in their life story. Celebrate everything about yourself.
Is it common to wear a bikini in public in malaysia?
Private swimming pool, beaches, yes with owner permission but in public beaches, pool and nearby area, not encourage. She is a non-Muslim i presume. That is for Malaysia, a Muslim country.
Lol, no. I'm Malaysian and I can tell you that it is socially acceptable to point out flaws on people's bodies. Last year, when I went back to visit, my mom's friend's husband asked her why she never told me to lose weight.
It damn well SHOULD BE
I think one of the reasons that people reacted this way is because it is common for women with conspicuous stretch marks to hide them, get them surgically altered, etc. People get unrealistic ideas of what women look like. It takes courage for somebody like this woman to show us.
I don't get why people have a problem with stretch marks. They don't look bad at all. Whether they're from weight gain, weight loss, or motherhood, I find that there's a certain aesthetic to them that's beautiful in their own way.
Or just from growing up, when you jump from 1,60cm to 1,85cm in one year or magicaly from Bcup to Dcup.... -_-
All the more reason it shouldn't be stigmatized!
Omg i meant 1.60m and 1.85m obviously I dont live in polly pocket :D
Omg yeah, the boob thing was annoying! I just remembered that I had the same, but they somehow did get better over time, they're hardly noticeable now.
Look how petite she is! After quadruplets! She's a beautiful woman. To have life throw you such a curveball at such a young age would not have been easy, she's done an amazing job. Her body has done an amazing job. Those who call her ugly are projecting the ugliness of their own personality.
I have nothing against stretch marks but those are really deep, which isn't bad I'm just WOAH
She's absolutely gorgeous! Those stretchmarks are just a beautiful memory of her cutiepies <3 I get tattoos for the same reason : memories! I'm the proud mother of 6, and although my stretchmarks are nothing like hers... I think they're totally amazing!!
Loved the comment that said she's a tiger mom! She sure has to be proud of her marks, those are marks of life!
Whether or not you get stretch marks is down to your genes. Whether you caddy one baby at a time or four, you either inherited skin with elasticity or you didn't. Either way, why do people want to bash this gorgeous woman and her beautiful, beautiful children? People have become bullies on the internet, you know they wouldn't have the courage to say half the things they say out loud to someone's face.
Wait, are they quadruplets? o.o I didn't realize that... that must hurt, and that really can't be helped. :( That seems like an unfortunate experience but she seems like she's happy and likes taking care of them. :)

I don't think they're quadruplets. I think the younger two are twins though. They don't look the same age as the other two.
In the article: After having quadruplets, 23-year-old Doreen Ching from Malaysia has decided to share private photos of the impact that giving birth had on her body.
Twins and quads are frequently NOT identical. It gets a bit technical to understand. You can look it up or just believe this.
Thanks for the replies! I didn't see that part of the article.
I am the VERY PROUD MOTHER OF EIGHT, plus we lost two. So I think I speak with some authority here when I say, "who the bloody hell cares about stretch marks?!?" For the most part, the only one who should have a say is her husband...and from what I see in these pictures, he seems ok with it. My late husband and I never even discussed my stretchmarks, except for an occasional joke about my "battle scars." And then we proceeded to go on to have another one!! When anyone would tell us about "having too many kids" ~ which happened VERY often, believe me, we always came back with, "which one would you have us send back?!" Now they are all grown, doing well...and I will never regret a single moment of being their Mom.
Sounds like your children were welcome and well loved. Including the 2 you and your husband lost. It's heartbreaking. Unfortunately, not all children are born into families where there is love and stability.
Sad but true, so many are unloved, unwanted. A niece has a 5yrold son with spina bifida who tests in the gifted range at school (for as well as a 5yrold can be tested lol) and recently another woman told her that she wishes she had never listened to her so-called doctor, who told her to abort her own (now would be)5yr baby, who was also diagnosed in utero. That after-shame of aborting an "unwanted" child must be heart-wrenching for the parents....I pray for them.
She IS GORGEOUS! What happens to this day "man"s? For Gods sake, you are NOT going to have a GF that way! Womans are a Gods blessing and BEAUTIFUL, not matter if they are ugly (to you), fat, insertskincolorhere, or wathever other stupid pfejudice! SMH!
How wonderful! It really is brave as a woman to show your post partum body. I still don’t have the courage after 10 years to bare my stomach after a c section and a bunch of stretch marks. We are force fed images of perfection after birth, as though women’s bodies should look as though they never bore life. This lady is insanely gorgeous and I applaud her for coming out of the post-birth body closet, which I think a lot of moms, myself included, feel shamed into.
So much misleading click bait … looks like BP becomes more and more like click farm. Why not just write – Mother of four, some says beauty was lost, but I think I gain something much more important.
What part of her body is that? What is that strange bulge? I only see 1 arm. Not being critical, just confused here.
Too many in this world have no sense of reality! They think always being pretty and having pretty things is going to make everything ok! It is not!! this woman has a beautiful family and I applaud her for letting people inside her private world. Showing the reality of giving birth! And it's not from having too many, my breast were scared for life from just one. Reality of bring a precious life into the world.
You can't put yourself on display and then be upset by people's reactions. She herself said she cried when she saw her stomach after giving birth. Some people get them, some are lucky and do not. But when you are as tiny as that and have quadruplets, how could you not get them? Equivalent to battle scars, I guess. Maybe people should ease off on the selfies, but I doubt that will happen. Take pictures of the kids, but don't get carried away with that either. Just live in the moment and have fun with the kids Narcissism is becoming a worldwide malady.
Again a troll says post? Sorry but trolls are trolls. they do that to hurt. to get a responce. Ignore them completely is the best revenge. And yeah... she had quadruplets... she has stretchmarks due to it... who cares she's beautiful. Nobody is perfect.
Woah, she's so gorgeous! Who cares about her stomach when you have such a beautiful face to look at? I'm in awe
Her marks remind me of lace. And lace is lovely.
I realize not everyone agrees, but I feel like the stretch marks look kinda cool and overwordly ^-^
I think she is a very beautiful lady and Blessed to have 4 Beautiful children Nobody is perfect and if someone doesn’t like because of the scars they are Not worth your time anyways God Loves you Always And you are just the way he made you ❤️💕✝️
Ow that I am pregnant I started to notice some stretch marks which is never a good thing however dermalmd stretch mark serum has minimized the color and has made them lighter. I know that after my pregnancy they will fade and that is thanks to this serum and coconut oil. I apply a fresh aloe Vera mask then clean it off and apply dermalmd serum twice a day. It’s made such a huge difference. It smells amazing too!
I had the worst stretch marks ever and most of them were old. I tried everything even bio oil, different oils, home remedies, drug store creams, but nothing seemed to work. Until I came across Dermalmd stretch mark serum, read reviews and compared to other google stretch mark serum reviews. I gave it a try and in just 2-3 weeks I see a dramatic change!!! I wish I took a before so that you can see the difference now. I can’t wait to see the end results in a couple weeks when it’s completely gone. This serum is the best and I’m recommending it to everyone that asks me how I finally got rid of my stubborn ones that I’ve had for awhile. I’m amazed!
Would YOUR belly have no stretch marks after having quadruplets? Seriously? Also "having too many kids"? She had kids ONCE. She got four. That's not being irresponsible, that's just rather unfortunate for her belly. You're beautiful. Seriously, I'm totally jealous of that hair :) Mine are always a tangled mess. And your kids are adorable! I bet they're a handful though :) Four toddlers? You're gonna be busy.
OMG they are so cute!! One lucky momma :) Pay no attention to the haters, they obviously have zero clue about life and motherhood.
I had both my children by cesarean delivery. I also had a hysterectomy a few years later. so 3 abdominal surgeries. This was years ago before they did the "bikini" incision. So I had a "hideous" scar reaching from navel to pubic hair. I'm proud of my scar BC it represents giving birth to my 2 children. I don't care what anyone thinks. Her stretch marks are beautiful BC they represent her children. Their children are precious beyond words.
She is lucky to have survived the birth. Her kids are so lucky to have such a wonderful mother.
You are extremely pretty, with your lovely family. Your children are adorable, you have everything to bring much happiness !
The negative comments probably are from the jealous ones. Look at your kids! How beautiful and healthy they look. There is no greater joy than to look at your stretchmarks, then compare them to your babies. However, I can imagine you would like a tommy fitting your age. I hope that either someone can fix it for you, or that you find peace with it. But never let anyone tell you it's ugly.
She wear a bikini anywhere she wants!
Pregnancy did a job on her stomach and at no time did she use a preventative cream or cocoa butter, etc. But she's the one that has to live with it and she's okay with it because she had 4 beautiful children who mean more to her than how her stomach looks. I wouldn't have shown it. But she can fix it, if she wants to. But she seems okay and she has a husband and a happy, loving family.
She is beautiful, and so are the kids. I personally don't understand this obsession with posting pictures of stretch marks - they may be 'tiger stripes of motherhood', and I certainly have my own, but I'm not sure why you would particularly want to show the world, especially as some are bound to respond negatively. But if she wants to, no problem.
Please visit any public beach at a state park in the USA (such as for lakes). You will see all manner of swimsuits and clothing on all types of bodies. Many such bodies will not pass the narrow guidelines of "attractive". These bathers don't care about the invalid opinions of others. They wear what feels comfortable and enjoy time with their families.
Having too many children? Wtf? Let me tell you one thing.. twins, triplets or godsake quadruplets might look cute to all but not for a woman who carry them. She didn't just "baked" 4 kids in her womb on purpose, its nature. . you dimwit.. she is so petite .. god knows how much her teeny tiny belly expanded to accommodate 4 babies. She is fucking strong and beautiful. Stupid people.
What an attractive family! You have a great figure for a woman who delivered 4 babies not that long ago. You should be very proud of yourself and your lovely family. I sure hope you have help at home because you've just taken out a long term lease on busy and tired. Be sure to build some time for yourself into your schedule, even if it's just 15 minutes a day. You'll need it and you deserve it. And stretch marks? They're a part of life like cavities in teeth and grey hair when you age. Who cares. They're part of you and you are beautiful.
Work those stripes!! I have stretch marks from having chunky thighs but slowly over the years I have come to accept them as a part of me and I think nowadays its a small price to pay for having this body shape. That is how you should view that as a small price for your four beautiful children some women have to have C sections and get left with nasty scarring so in some ways your not alone but be proud of your body and teach your children to love yours and their bodies too. You have a wonderful family and you are really pretty
Those people who called her ugly are just d**** wanting attention. You are beautiful, don't forget it. :) <3
Trolls are the scum of todays society and must be destroyed.
Lovely family. But again no need to overshare.
Those trolls are probably green with envy because they don't have any kids of their own and probably never will. Also, some people are just mean and want to poison other people's lives. It's up to us not to let them. They're not worth bothering with.
every woman is free to have the children she wants and it is not anyone's problem. she and her husband see a happy couple with their children
I’m covered just from puberty. I’d love them on my tummy though, because I’d be a mum
I wonder if she knows about the product my mother always so highly praises for helping this? Its actually called "Mother's Friend" and its a lotion which eventually removes stretch marks. But FOUR babies! What can people expect?. I'm shocked that petite little thing could even carry 4 babies. She deserves a medal or mother of the year award, not hateful garbage. And what's wrong with four children? Does this couple live in Asia? I can't believe how young her husband looks. They're essentially children still themselves in a way. Good luck to them.
I absolutely LOVE the first positive comment posted above. (The “Tiger Stripes” one.) Amen, sister!
Well, let's face it, those stretch marks look ugly, but it's life. She looks so fragile and delicate and was still able to deliver for gorgeous healthy little humans. She has loving husband, who loves her soul and body. That's what count the most. The only thing I don't understand these days is the new trend of sharing each and private detail with the whole world. We are cornered about privacy and yet we share intimate details with everyone and then, instead of being prepared for not only positive reactions, we are worried about those negative ones. Come on people.
she is as beautiful as her kids are adorable!!
Where do people think babies come from? The stork? Really people, when you have a baby it changes your body. It's supposed to... And your stretch marks are something to be proud of! They are a part of you, and you bought beautiful children into the world. One of whom may grow up and cure cancer! So, those of you who are "disgusted" by stretch marks, go hug your mom!
look the stretch marks are there as it shows that she is a true trooper and that she is amazing so yeah screw you all who said that this was ugly and she deserved it because of x y and z
You can wear bikini anywhere you like, not just at home. Its already not easy being a young mother, let alone a young mother of quadruplets. When you met with a nasty person commented on your achievement mark of life, please be reminded that there are 10x more who support you.
You are so beautiful! I had twins and it was a rough pregnancy. I cannot imagine housing 4 babies in your tiny body! You have a beautiful family and please ignore the haters. More of us women carry battle scars from pregnancy than do not! Your body did an amazing thing. Wear those stripes with pride.
Such cute kids! Carrying quads is some feat; you're amazing!
I don't have kids but already have stretch marks, because I was fat and gained a lot of weight when I was younger. But idgaf, they're just scars, and no one's perfect. she looks GREAT and I'm sure her and her babies don't care she has stretch marks because they don't define her!!!
You are very beautiful. Do not listen to people.
Whoa, her stomach must have been gigantic on that tiny frame.
Something's wrong with you if you think she's ugly
How in the hell can they comment about her having too many kids!? THEY WERE QUADTRIPLETS!! Its not like she had a say that will be pregnant with 4 babies at once! Girl, if ur reading this, don't listen to the haters! They are just jealous that they don't have super powers like us ( if they are men) and ( for women, that they can't give birth to beautiful babies!)
And I just have to say the amount of support in these comments is reassuring. It's good to know there are some decent men out there who don't find stretch marks, specially of a stature like hers, isn't 'discusting'. Just had to say that.
She looks about my size when I met my husband. 4'11 and 90 pounds. She is TINY!! I myself am surprised I didnt get stretch marks with ONE big baby. Our son was almost 9 lbs and almost 21 inches long. I have no doubt in my mind that I would have stretch marks with even twins. It's normal!! People don't get grossed out over wrinkles.
All that matters is that your husband loves you. You have 4 beautiful children and by the way, you are gorgeous!
beautiful mom, kids and husband. to hell with the haters
Are you kidding me? She looks AMAZING after four kids. I had one and I wish I looked as good as her!
While she has nothing to be ashamed of, does anyone else think that social media has done a real number to society? Can we keep anything private? To answer my own question, if you check out her Instagram, it seems to be focused on health/beauty products, so this is probably relevant to her. In her post of the photo, she has over 200 comments, and not a single negative one! So this is a nonstory, designed to get clicks.
She's probably deleted and blocked the negative ones.
What an adorable fam! And the one pic, with 2 in the highchairs, and the parents carrying the other two... that shoe on the floor just kills me. Love it.
I think it looks cool ;-;
I wonder if these men are so uneducated about the female body that they honestly think women CHOOSE how many babies to get at ones? Women don´t really choose to get multiples.
so you're telling me that you can control how many kids you have at once? BITCH THEYRE QUADRUPLETS PROBABLY because of how similar in age they look
again, I hate people.
I think she is stunning! I don't have or want kids but I would NEVER tell someone they were hideous or they made me want to throw up!! It is so sad that our society has become a group of hateful negative rotten individuals who feel like it's ok to say whatever the hell they want about someone else's choices. I know that once you share on social media you kind of open yourself up to the public but I feel like common human decency should also be a factor for people before opening their hateful mouths
She's a beautiful woman, with a beautiful family. Anyone who tries to make her feel bad about that should be ashamed of themselves!
First of all, she is beautiful. Those marks are her battle trophies, not scars. Second, BLOCK OUT THE TROLLLLLLLLLLS. They know nothing, and are just jealous. She has a gorgeous family, and deserves that.
For having four kids at once, she looks damn good. Why do people have to be so cruel. What good does it bring? NOTHING.
The marks look freaky but how can someone be such an asshole, that is incredible. She did a fantastic job (and I say it as someone not even feeling very maternally), she is beautiful, and if anything, I can pity her for bearing something that is so not accepted by society and so thought of as ugly. She has to be strong for having four children, she has to be even stronger to face the looks and not give in to thinking that she is not beautiful. If anything, I love her for sharing this and I think we should all just take it as a warning to really keep moisturizing when pregnant. No reason for hate here.
I will never understand why so many people feel entitled to share their negative opinions on others. She looks beautiful. Her babies are healthy and beautiful. Her family is adorable. And she is only 23, she is braver than most of us. I applaud her for her bravery.
those stretch marks were kind of amazing looking in all honesty. Indeed, like tiger stripes. I'm sure they were quite a thing to understand as part of her new post-quadruplets body. But they are kind of amazing to look at. As a 31 yr old woman whose never had children. I'm kind of enamored by how the female body changes and adapts to bearing children. Way to be real about your body girl. Many wouldn't know her body changed at all since she is still so tiny. Beautiful all the same.
Who the fuck CARES if she has stretch marks? That woman is so beautiful! And her children are beautiful! Why don’t you just go and shave your back. -Regina George
DON'T YOU WORRY YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! MY MARKS ARWN'T FROM CHILD BEARING, NEVER HAD ANY, BUT BECAUSE I AM "OH SO PETITE"!
?
Seriously folks, stop asking the internet. The people most likely to respond are the ones who don't have enough going on in their life; so they spend their time on the internet judging others and saying horrible things to make themselves feel better.
Like the article said, the response was overwhelmingly positive, it was just some people that got nasty about it. A lot of women were probably encouraged by her honesty. She shared with the internet because it helps to know you're not the only one, and for someone who's self-conscious about having stretch marks, it can be inspiring to see someone with her own stretch marks being brave and loving her life and family.

This chink bitch is fucking gross. Just kill yourself Yoko. Nothing is attractive about you honey. You'll be sexually dead to men for the rest of your life. I'd be surprised if the guy who knocked your gross ass up will stay with you for much longer. You are physically disgusting. Stretch marks are gross on their own, but what you have going on is vomit worthy. You're gross and I hope that you do the right thing and just jump off a cliff into a bon fire so that no one will have to look at those hideous stretch marks ever again. And to all those people out there who disagree with my point of view; just let me preemptively say fuck you. Your opinions mean absolutely dick to me. I hope all the bad things in life happen to all of you.
And your opinion means absolutely dick to everyone else. Piss off, YOU make me want to vomit asshole.

They were QUADRUPLETS idiot, she didn't mean to have four. Educate yourself or piss off.

She's really pretty. :) I feel bad for her poor stomach. :( Anyways, I don't mean to be rude or anything, but... I'm in a family of an entire 7 and I don't think mom looks like that so I don't think it's her fault. :p

Why do you show such private and vulnerable pictures of yourself in the first place, if you can not handle negative comments? Come on... it's the internet! There are a lot of trolls and mean pricks out there just waiting for the opportunity to make someone feel bad to compensate their own complexes. It is so easy since everyone is a stranger. That's no news. Of course she is not ugly, it's all just natural. But you have to be aware that you will get negative and positive feedback if you display yourself. Just saying.

A stomach only a husband could love, if even that.
When you love, you love a whole person. If you're stopped by such little things, it just means you don't know love. Hope it will happen to you some day, it will make you grow up :)

Love it.
I think it looks cool ;-;

"23 year old ... is already a mother of four" all I can hear is overpopulation
