Woman Shares How She Saw A Policeman Taking Selfies With His Service Dog, He Responds With Pics
When most people hear the word ‘dog,’ they usually think of a goofy, fluffy animal that’s the world’s best pet. After all, most households own at least one, be it a tiny chihuahua or a big rottweiler. But there’s also another category of dogs that don’t immediately cross everyone’s mind. It’s the working dogs. The good, professional boys and girls that are specially trained to perform certain tasks. Service dogs assist people with physical and mental disabilities or disorders. Herding dogs help out on farms. Perhaps one of the best-known classes of service dogs is that of police dogs, also known as K9.
While police dogs might be perceived as scary, especially since they usually are deployed to assist in relation to a crime, that doesn’t mean that deep down they’re not just regular goofy dogs that enjoy pets and fun-time with their owners. One such dog was spotted in a much lighter setting when a woman spotted a police officer taking selfies with his K9.

One woman spotted a policeman taking selfies with his K9 and shared it on Facebook
What drew the woman’s eye was not only the fact that the two were taking selfies, but also that the policeman was showing each picture to the dog after taking it. Gina Anzaldua Stevenson took to Facebook, where she shared the adorable photographs on a “Dogspotting Society” group where it garnered 60k likes and 47k shares.
As people’s responses and love flooded the comment section, it didn’t take long for the policeman to come across the post. And, to everyone’s joy, Andre Cloyd posted the selfies he took with his dog, Zigi. The man works as a police officer in Dallas, Texas and took some time off his work to snap a couple of adorable pics with his K9 partner.
The police officer then responded by sharing the selfies as well
Here’s how people on Facebook reacted to the photos

Share on FacebookI can definitely see a deep and affectionate bond between this officer and his K9. They share a lot and would die for each other. Service dogs are so much more than the service they provide. They live with their handlers and their handlers’ families, so when they’re off the clock, they’re family members. They play with their handlers’ kids, keep their handlers’ partners company, and do everything else non-service animals do with their families. They just get to spend all day at work with them too.
My neighbor has this kind of dog and he is the sweetest dog I have ever meet!
Both committed to stop crime Both in uniform Thank you for protecting us day and night great pics
I don't mean to objectify this brave police officer, but he is beyond handsome! I mean, check out the tongue on him!
Officer Cloyd and K-9 — thank you for your selfies and your selfless service!!!!! We LOVE you guys!!! You’re doing a great job!!!
I hope these cute photos didn’t get him into trouble with his boss! Bosses aren’t always very agreeable.
That dog has the longest tongue - does he lick people to death with it?
So adorable that these went full circle. I love that the officer posted those photos. He and his partner are gorgeous!
I was going to Europe with my grandmother and we didn't have to do a bag check due to the K-9. He kept sniffing me and my butt. My grandmother asked if I needed to stop and be checked. The officer said "No, he's just being friendly. Get back over here, you have a job to do. She doesn't need you sniffing her, nosy." It was one of the best and funniest encounters I've ever had with a dog that wasn't my own.
To the people who pointed out that you can talk in baby talk to the pooch: Thanks for the suggestion. I will have to try it.
