On Tuesday Sara Perez and Matthew Teague were on a mission to hunt Pokemon in South Houston. While on duty, the duo spotted an abandoned cage in a completely empty park. 20 hamsters and 7 mice were suffering inside from heat exhaustion and had no water to refresh themselves with.
Luckily for them, Sara and Matthew acted fast. The two Pokemon trainers took the cage back to Sara’s house, then provided water, fresh food and bedding to the suffering animals. Thanks to the swift decisions, all 27 have survived.
Later, Sara handed the animals over to the Houston SPCA which, after not receiving any news from former owners, named them after Pokemon and put them up for adoption. Hopefully, difficult times for Pikachu and his friends will soon be over after new Pokemon trainers take them home.

All animals survived and arrived at the Houston SPCA and were given Pokemon names before being put up for adoption
Now they are waiting for personal Pokemon trainers to take them home!

When people lose that amount of empathy, that they cannot even see how much suffering they are causing to their own pets - (or possibly pets of their children) -- they are lost.

It's clear someone bought a pair of hamsters, they obviously bred and then they didn't know what to do with so many hamsters. People forget pets aren't toys... you can't dispose them like trash... If you're not mature enough to keep pets, just don't buy them... it's so easy
When I was little me and my brothers finally got to have pets, the pet-store assured us that both hamsters were of the same gender. Few weeks later we discovered tiny little baby hamsters in the cage. My parents saw it as an excellent lesson about life and everything. We got bigger cages and separated the males from the females and we had to take of each and everyone of them.

I actually found a little hedgehog in my card while playing pokémon go, I fed her and gave her a warm place to sleep, it is very healthy and lively. I named her Shaymin obviously :D

The person who abandoned them should have dropped them off at a vet not left them in heat to die.
The suffering caused by humans to animals is disgusting!!hunt these bile monsters down and punish them then abandone them!!! :,(
Wondering why there are not more headlines like this, but with animals like poor cattle and pigs spotted in livestock breeding farms and slaughterhouses? Why do people make distinctions between animals? One to kill - others to rescue???
a friend of mine posted on facebook the other day how she found out a box with some abandoned guinea pigs inside and she saved them... why would you leave a pet out in the wild to die alone when you can bring them to rescue homes and/or refugees and let them live safe if you don't want them anymore! you will still be a moron but at least you won't be completely cruel!!! :(

The person who abandoned them, what was he or she thinking. What goes in their mind that they could justify such an act. Animals are not toys to be played when fancied and disposed off when interest is lost. If you can't be responsible you shouldn't be allowed to adopt pets. Its heinous.

We found a kitten tied up in bandanas and stretchy rope left next to a trash can while we were hunting pokemon. His name is now nibbler and he struts around my house like he owns the joint. lol
