Logan is a pit bull who was rescued from dogfighting in Mexico and brought to Los Angeles in August to find a home. Before, he was living a horrible life: routinely tortured, but he is now in safe hands.
Shira Scott Astrof is the leader and founder of the ‘Animal Rescue Mission’ organization that saved Logan when he was found on the street. She has helped Logan receive needed medical care and a safe home.

Shira Scott Astrof, a founder of ‘Animal Rescue Mission’ has shared on her Instagram saying, “From the second I met Logan, I was smitten. Despite how weak and awful he felt, he just wanted to be loved and give love.”

His teeth were shaved down so that the other dogs could tear him apart for practice while he had to try his best to fight back to survive

After he had no fight left in him, the people who were responsible for such a crime dumped him onto the street

When Logan was brought to the shelter, veterinary specialists found a cancerous venereal tumor in his body

She was the one, who made sure, Logan is well taken care of: “We visited Logan at his chemo treatment place in Tijuana. One more month to go till he can go to his forever home”

In the shelter where he was taken care of and fed, he soon got healthy, even while undergoing chemotherapy necessary to reduce tumor viability

Despite how horrible humans have been to him before, he is a kindhearted dog who wants to cuddle, play and give kisses

“I’m grateful…that you’ve not only survived, but that you want to continue on to the life you so wholeheartedly deserve” is how Shira expressed her gratefulness for Logans well being.

I've been doing Animal Rescue Work for over 40yrs and this kind of 🦬💩 is why I (all too often) feel like human beans (pun about the brainless ones) are the worst parasites on Earth. People who abuse & torture animals (&kids) are the scum of the Earth. Those who do it for the money... sooooo much worse!!!
Don’t forget those that prey on the elderly too!
Yes, I didn't forget them. But kids & animals are (usually) smaller and (always) innocent, meaning they have no life experience nor understanding of what the 🤬 is really happening. Like the "subtext" of why/etc and that it's really about the abusers damage and not about "what they did wrong". Plus kids are so easily tricked into not telling (bc "your parents will go to jail for punishing me", etc.) whereas adults know better.
I genuinely don’t know - is it less evil when people do it because they enjoy it? Or if it’s part of their job and it doesn’t affect them at all (anymore)? I saw a photo of a woman using a flamethrower on a tied up, muzzled, very alive dog. The pain in that dog’s eyes - it was one of the most heartbreaking things I’ve ever seen. But the woman just looked kind of…bored. I cannot fathom this, and I hope to God I never do.
I was thinking along the lines of dog fighting ring$, as mentioned in the article. But what you've mentioned (nightmares for me tonight), burning alive has got to be the worst 😿😭 She must've been abused horribly (&/or mentally deranged) to feel the need to do something so horrendous... but (I believe) Karma is real and she'll probably come back as that exact dog in her next life (or a person who has that exact thing done to them). I don't get it either, the reasoning (read: excuses) I've heard while out on missions, it's mind-boggling!!! AND the main reason that I "preach at people" not to anthropomorphize animals. It's a dangerous, even deadly, habit to attribute human reasoning to animals' inherent behaviors... for them AND US. Cats are NOT åsshöles, they're just cats acting like cats! You can Google "Tourons of Yellowstone" for examples. (That's not Yogi & BooBoo nor Bambi, folks🙄 even deer CAN KILL YOU.)
But without anthro animals...SONIC AND UNDERTALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TIL@Undertale😺...I absotively 😻 Sonic, the Madagascar movies, Yogi/ BooBoo /Bambi, Ted (stuffed bear), Disney, Ghibli and the like!!! But when it comes to live animals, even those cause problems among those people who just cannot differentiate CGI from reality. Fortunately, most of us can and we're trying to help the animals by making people aware of the dangers. These people have literally walked up to wild BISON for selfies and tried to pet & ride them!!! It's 🤬 INSANE!!!
Oh, now that you clarify it's good. I thought you meant all anthro animals at first lol.
That’s the worst thing - according to the accompanying text it was preparation for using the dog as food. For some reason they think the “meat” is more palatable/tender if the animal is burned/skinned/cooked alive. She wasn’t being cruel, in her mind. Just…practical? It beggars belief.
🙀HOLY CARP!!!😱 THAT never occurred to me! Like when people used to eat live monkey's brains?!?😬 So glad (most) people have learned better. If y'all need to eat an animal to keep (your family) from starving, that's understandable. But this torturing it to death (esp just to "improve the taste" when spicing & cooking technique can help) is just... sorry but no word is adequate 🥺😿😭
From what I understand, Olivia, it's not exactly "because they enjoy it". It's apparently (bc I don't get it either) like a release of emotional angst and psychological injuries that they have suffered at the hands of others. Maybe it's like that saying "Misery loves company"?
*GASP* meeeeee? /s
No, the man who abused my daughter gained her silence by threatening us with that.
Oh wait, that "/s" means something, doesn't it? But I've only seen it here and it's been over a year since I was here so I don't recall. (I'm more Trekkie than techie and suck at this secret code stuff.) Was it "/silliness"?
/s is for /sarcastic. Often denotes something that may be taken too seriously or come off as offensive but is just a joke.
😺Thanks for the reminder, I knew that it had to be something like that.
I’m so happy this dog was rescued and in the hands of loving people in stead of the hands of the miserable cockroaches who abused him. May they rot in hell. The cowards!
calling them cockroaches would be offensive to headless roach! how about…hmm….urinal cakes!
Urinal cakes, I love it😹🤣😹 P I S S ON 'EM!!!
You are absolutely right, urinal cakes it is!
What a horrific story but thank the gods it had a happy ending ❤️
