We've all seen it when flipping through Instagram; those perfect, cinematic portraits of pregnant women in enchanted forests, happy couples lounging on the beach, and girls posing like models in abandoned buildings. Don't you ever wonder how those interesting pictures came to be? Well, a professional photographer from Brazil Gilmar Silva has put together a brilliant series of 'behind-the-scenes' reveals that prove professional photoshoots are definitely not always what they seem - and we're not just talking about the amount of photo editing that comes into play. The project, titled LUGARxPHOTO ('place and photo'), is both a humorous look at the lengths we go to get beautiful photos and an analysis of the illusions we perpetuate and often buy into through images of ourselves. It's really interesting. The longer I look the more I discover. Witht hat aperture you couldn't never get the reflection in the water to look so sharp and the background blurred. Looks really unatural. There's alot of cutting and moving of elements as well in this photo. Also the depth of field change from the place they are standing is changing WAY too fast if you look into the distance. It's way to abrupt. Everything is constructed. Not just some colors.
That looks like a heck of a lot of photoshop for one piece of art...
Hehe this isn't just post processing. This is straight up photoshopping shit in that wasnt there. Those bushes are in no way pink. XD

That's nice. particularly like the "firefly" effect. Not sure if they are something in the atmosphere or added, but it works.
Must have required some manipulation as she is seated in the shadows!
I'm not as into this one. Even the finished product looks like a pregnant woman sitting next to a mud puddle. just my humble opinion.
Cringeworthy? I don't think so. This is your typical photo shoot that would be staged and then the right amount of Photoshop manipulation to get exactly what the client is looking for. Nothing Cringey here.
Sorry, where's the biggest lie ever? All I see here is behind the scenes shots for some creative photography. If you want to talk about lies, just look up your nearest elected official.
The composite photo of the baby apparently lying on the dog is a lie, which disappointed me, but most of these just illustrate creative techniques where any "cheating" comes from our own imaginations interpreting what we don't see.
You can't put the baby on the dog. It will get damaged when then dog jumps up without warning... It's a cute picture.
