Photographer Helps Women Get Rid Of Insecurities By Photographing Them Like Celebrities (29 Pics)
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" is an accurate quote by Margaret Wolfe Hungerford. Everyone views beauty differently: some find it in nature, some in the busy streets of cities. It especially varies when we're talking about the beauty of people.
Sadly, sometimes people feel insecure in their own bodies. Maybe it's because of some body issues—scars, age. There are many factors that can bring our confidence down. Then we can't let our inner beauty shine through.
Emily London is a photographer with the goal of getting rid of any insecurities women have and making them feel like the queens they are. She helps women feel confident in their own skin by giving them incredible makeovers and then capturing their portraits. The women get transformed into models and Hollywood divas that could easily be on the most popular magazine covers or movie screens.

Just read the 'testimonial' above this ladys' photos, from a "Wendy" saying women will go back to their families "a changed woman". This is sad, really. No woman ( or man for that matter ) should be judged by their looks. To be taught to believe that the only way to 'feel good about yourself' is from wearing a ton of makeup, frilly/glittery clothing, hair-spray stiff hair, is not what we should be teaching our children. Young girls need to learn early that they are perfect just the way they are.
I agree but sometimes a person can be so discouraged that something like this will lift them up, make them smile and see themselves as they really are gorgeous inside and out.

Camera angles and posing. I still have the sexy chin depicted in the first photo, but for my headshots I go for a more subtle sexy. Can't let everyone see your curves ya know.

We live our day-to-day lives so much nowadays, not dressing up for special occasions the way we used to and, more recently because of Covid, not putting on our make-up and dressing up to go out in the evenings. Every woman should have a session with Emily... just to have some photos to remind them of how beautiful they really are.
I think she is much prettier without makeup. Perhaps it is the smile.

The makeovers are great and I hope they are all inspired to try a new look...but the excessive airbrushing is really unnecessary. Does that really make people feel better when their skin has been completely washed away for a post-worthy picture?
I think it is just to achieve the final movie star look. Movie star photos are also heavily photoshopped.

It always concerns me that even women who are really beautiful don't see themselves as such. It always takes tons of make-up and hairspray plus heavily editing to make us feel good enough. Interestingly I don't know many men who would prefer the ladies in the right pictures. So everybody, wear your smile, it's what makes you most beautiful.
It tends to be women that drive these unachievable standards as well. Most men don't care for these over the top looks. But it doesn't look like it's getting better, it seems like it's getting worse, especially with Instagram and other social sites driving girls to chase these looks.

While it can be good to make you feel better about yourself l think it is almost cruel to dangle this in front of people cause the reality is they aren't always going to look like that again.
It's amazing how much better people look and feel when they're confident in themselves and their bodies. Some people try to bring you down by commenting on your body type, looks, how much makeup you put, etc. But the key is always loving yourself and knowing that you are perfectly good as how you are. Don't try to change who you are for others. These women look great in the before and after pictures! <3
Some of the women in the after photos don't look like themselves. They look like a instagram filtered image. Remember Glamour Shots? They'd doll you up for the photos, but not this far! At least you still looked like yourself.
Teaching young girls that they "need make-up" to be pretty is terrible. Beauty is from within. For men and women. It's fine that these ladies wanted to glam it up for a photo-shoot, but am skeptical that any one of them felt more confident from doing so. The make-up and flashy clothes come off at the end of the day. I pray we teach our children better than this.
All the photos are mediocre as f**k and total s**t at showing anything it's all about the camera effects and editing that's being show here not photos themselves

With these types of glamour shots, it's easy to conceal a person being overweight, or at least minimize how overweight they look. It just takes the right composition and angles. Having the person wear black helps too as shown in some of these photos. It goes a long way in making a person appear more attractive, but it is just an illusion. I'm not saying it's a terrible thing to be overweight, only that people generally want to be more slim and desire that quality in a partner as well

Most of the younger women look more natural in the first photo, all they needed was a course in dressing correctly, makeup, and a flattering hairstyle. Looking like a celebrity doesn't necessarily make you happier. There were some lovely smiles. The older ladies benefited more.
Let me explain something. You can't remove insecurities by making people look like someone they are not. Obviously a lot of makeup and camera techniques have been used to basically fake them. This means that the women here will know full well that it's not how they naturally look, therefore, by covering them up, it's effectively saying that naturally, they aren't good enough. If, on the other hand, this was about helping the women feel more confident about their natural selves, I would be interested.
I have a question entirely seperate from these women, but important nonetheless, I feel. Why does BoredPanda allow you to use the N-word? To clarify, by n-word I mean the slur referring to american slavery, not german fascism. Surely if you type that, it ought to automatically remove your ability to post for a few hours? In this instance it's even in the guy's (presumptuous of me, I realise, but given the nature of his language I cannot imagine a woman owns that account) account name contains the n-word. How is that allowable?
I think the point of the project isn't "you need XYZ to be this beautiful"; I think the point was "Anyone can look like let this, so don't worry about it". I really like that message.
Love it, and I'd love to do it! I had a professional make up and photo shoot in NYC many years ago for business and it was The best experience- they made me look as good as I can look, and it was fabulous! There was no "photoshopping"- they spent Hours doing my makeup- literally sculpting my face with makeup- as well as my hair...
I feel like the noses specifically were heavily edited...maybe it was just makeup though? Just like if you're insecure about your nose, photoshopping it to show how it could look is not going to help the insecurity...
Ads are getting smarter by the day. I saw nothing what any other hairdresser and makeup artist couldn't do.
